Assuming NCRC is like other track groups, simply register and show up early enough to get settled in and attend the driver's meeting. All you really have to bring is a helmet, although Thunderhill may have rentals available. I'd also suggest a tire pressure gauge and a notebook, the latter being my only requirement as you can borrow a gauge if you can't get one ahead of time. You'll need a credit card for gas. Just checkout your Z before you register - see if the insides of your tires are overly worn, brake pads have some meat, and fluids are all topped off. That's really the only "prep" you need for your first day for the car.
I typically tell students they should study the course map and watch a few videos of the track before the event. That way they are at least familiar with the track rather than seeing it for the first time on the first lap. None of this is expected, but it'll help to nucleate and grow your fun factor. I'd be there myself, but the wiff made Vday plans.

Everyone is there to help out everyone and have fun.(one big family)
If you let me know who is going, we can meet up and help you out, there will be about 8-10 people from my club "DMC" there, and we all have been on this track a few times.
It's all about being Safe, NOT driving past your level, and having SAFE FUN.
You will love it, where can you go that fast and not have COPS after you. haha.
And at the novice level you will be on the track with other novices driving slow, you won't be on the track with faster people that might scare you..It's Safe.

isn't it raining that day? (or is this the reason for the discount? haha)
I'd like to join in the future, but need to get an alignment first and not sure if i want to try my first day in the rain.
