Hi my name is Ken Gray. I live in Santa Rosa. Last week I purchased an'04 350Z Enthusiast Silverstone. I've been looking for other 350Z owners to drive with. I used to take my 911 out to the Lake Sonoma and Lake Berryessa areas. I just signed up for the Oct.25th NASA track day at Sears Point. If anyone would like to meet in the next few weeks give me a call. 707-542-0213

Ken,

Welcome new owner. I'll be up for a ride in a couple of weeks. Want to get my new wheels/tires/front pads on 10/4 then I'll be ready for a nice "test" drive.

For Sears Point [Infineon] NASA track day details and sign-up info go to www.nasaproracing.com I did one of thier track days some time ago and had a blast. Membership is 35.00 and the track days are around 200.00. Group 1 assigns your own personal instructor to ride with you during your on track sessions. What a bargain. Friendly, low key people. I will be there Oct. 25th. You can reach me at 707-542-0213

Awesome... more ppl in our area! I see several Z's in my area of Santa Rosa (off Santa Rosa Ave, near Target) and I always try and give a nod or a wave

Looks like a lot of us are driving Silverstone though... :-) Gonna be hard to tell who's who!

Well, maybe not... we've all got (or are getting) different rims... that'll be a good identifier. hehe

We should do a Lake Sonoma or Anadel BBQ or something.

sounds good to me. I saw a cs and red z about five cars apart on 101 a week ago. none of them were interested in nodding or anything. Everybody says they are all over this area, but I hardly ever see any. Went to Sacto yesterday and did not see a one on 80. I havn't seen any black ones around SR, but I know they sold at least one black track model at freeman nissan. There used to be a silverstone that parked in the costco lot. That is the car that made me dicide for sure that i needed a z.

There's a PPW, LS and SS in Windsor besides mine but I rarely if ever see them even though we are within a 1 mile radius of each other. The first 350Z delivered by Freeman was a SB Touring and bought by a co-workers brother.

zwindsor looks like your Z has a birthday coming up. I didn't get mine until march. They wanted $5M over msrp early on. I will let you know what it turns in the 1/4 after tommorow. I hope I am not disppointed! If i launch all right I think I will be ok. kinda out of practice.

That's right...tomorrow will be the big day. Guess it's B'day present will be the new "shoes" this Friday.

As far as I know Freeman's and North Bay's policies were never to go over MSRP. I think it all depended on who the salesperson was. I was the first to pre-order at Freeman way back in Jan. '02 and only dealt with the SM, Marty Vendrick.

Have fun tomorrow night. It will probably take some practice to get the right launch. I haven't dragged since the late 60's (oops showing my age here)

When I first went to Freeman this guy who looked like Samuel L Jackson the actor treated me like he wasn't interested in selling cars. He said $2M over msrp and go over there and put your name on the list. no brochures or anything. When i left they saw what i was driving (Lexus SC400 coupe with BBS wheels) then this woman comes running out yelling that she found a brochure and some prices and I could look at a car. When I came back in a few months Rico ?? gave me $2000 of msrp and threw in all kinds of other goodies.
My drag racing days go bacck to the early 60' through late 60's, so I probably have a couple years on you. I ran Super Sport, C,D and E gas classes at Fremont, VacaValley,Bakersfield Half Moon Bay and even Cotati.
I am going to do the first launch at idle and then work my way up. i just don't want to go up in smoke at the line. I will let you know the results....good or bad. i am guessing mid 14's.

Rico is a nice salesman to work with. You got a great price! Sometimes I wish I hadn't been so anxious to get mine (paid MSRP).

Have fun tonight!

Hey! I didn't embarrass the Z's got into the finals of the Street class. I went for the faster class over the sport compact class. Just needed some competition I guess.
first two runs were. 14.322 and 14.332 then the wind came up. 14.462 a high of 14.702 (windier than hell) my reaction time sucks, need to work on that. Lost in the finals with a 14.462 98.43 against a 14.325 @92.42 my reaction time was .783 his .731, lost it at the line. I would have had him if I had a couple more feet. I was catching him very quickly. looks like the Z's really come on towards the end of the 1/4. These 5AT's seem to be about what comparable 6 speeds are turning, so I am very happy. Will try it again after the intake and grounding. No other Z's there, so I got lots of questions from the other competitors. It was a good night!

Hey fowlman,

I saw your last run, last night. I was planning on racing my z also last night but got there too late. I will be there next week to try again.

Kengray,

I am very interested in that track day. I will check my schedule and if it permits I will be signing up. I am a total novice when it comes to track racing. Hope its OK.

Kengray,

I just signed up for the track day 10/25/03. I guess I'll see you there. About the helmet requirements, is a motorcycle helmet OK? Do they have rentals there?

Thanks,
