Default Do not use Vas@Extended for your CF wrapping

This is what i get for his choppy work. No, i don't want to call him nor PM him to have my pieces re-done because i simply have no faith in him. The following are his work that only lasted two months tops.........Be warned, do not use him.

1. Do not use Vas@Extended for your CF wrapping-dsc01297.jpg

This picture shows the wrinkle in the resin(later found out that Vas never used resin), on the top left hand corner, and all the way down the left side of the rear strut cover. It has only been two months, and it shouldn't wrinkle like this.

2. Do not use Vas@Extended for your CF wrapping-dsc01298.jpg

This is a more detailed picture of the wrinkle. It literally lifted the clear coat that my body shop sprayed over. FYI, my body shop did lightly sanded the top so the clear coat would adhere to the piece. When i showed this to him, he said that it wasn't the clear coat, it was actually the resin that was wrinkled...... Oh, there is more to this, which, I will explain a bit later.

3. Do not use Vas@Extended for your CF wrapping-dsc01299.jpg

This is the second piece that Vas did. Notice the clear coat has been peeled off. It was done by me because it wasn't bonding to the piece, so there was no point having the clear coat on. Notice the wrinkle on the top left hand corner. It was actually causing the clear coat to come off.

4. Do not use Vas@Extended for your CF wrapping-dsc01300.jpg

Here is another picture of the second piece. Vas's quality is GARBAGE at best.

5. Do not use Vas@Extended for your CF wrapping-dsc01301.jpg

Notice the wrinkles? Yeah, i was asking the same question. "WTF?"
So later on, my guy applied a small amount of paint thinner to the piece. Long and behold, there was no trace of resin ever being used. Whatever Vas used to imitate resin, just simply came off.......... My shop was fairly surprised at his work, and also questioned the where about of the resin. My shop is in the process of trying to fix his garbage work. I will give an update to see if this can be salvaged.

Update:

Called my shop today to check the status of the pieces they are trying to fix. The shop told me that they could not fix the wrinkle due to the poor materials used to wrap the pieces. The pieces wrinkled again after a fresh coat of resin was applied during the drying process. So in conclusion, VAS@Extended has bad craftsmanship, and materials used were sub par. Be warned, do not use Vas for any cf wrapping.

More detailed pics of the Vas's so called CF wrapped pieces. These are the pieces after my body shop tried to salvage the cf wrapping. Notice the rear caps were never sanded down to allow the the wrap to adhere properly to the caps....... Talk about top notch work, huh????

1. Do not use Vas@Extended for your CF wrapping-dsc01313.jpg

2. Do not use Vas@Extended for your CF wrapping-dsc01314.jpg

3. Do not use Vas@Extended for your CF wrapping-dsc01315.jpg

So after my shop tried to repair the wrap, it did not come out so well due to the fact that the material Vas used were not properly mixed, or lack of hardener. So regardless of additional Resin, it did not allow the resin to properly dry and adhere to the cf. It just basically wrinkled again. The funny thing was, when i first received the piece from Vas, the finish looked like it wasn't dry, and it also had marks on them from the news paper wrap to protect the pieces during shipment. In conclusion, the pieces were never properly dried before they were sent out. The below 4 pictures show the aftermath of trying to repair the cf. It did not work. My body shop has been in business for over 25 years, and they have worked with resin for that long as well. This is the first time they have ever seen this kind of poor workmanship on a cf wrap.

So in conclusion, I will have to have the cf re-wrapped again by a real cf professional, who have done nothing but an excellent job on my current pieces. So, in conclusion, i can now understand the frustration Jay'Z had gone through with Vas. This kind of work should never be advertised on the forum. Maybe Ebay at best................
