NorCal UFO Autox Series at Marina Airport
Anyone going to the SCCA SFR Slush tomorrow at Great America? First event of the series if you're in it for points. I'll be there running second in STX. Couldn't make it to AAS last weekend cause I was dog sick both days.
More info: http://www.sfr-solo.org/solo2/Result...nd01_info.html and you do have to be an SCCA member (or buy a temporary membership).

And I wish I had a ~$25k sports car when I was 19.
Maybe consider saving the $ you are looking to spend on 18/19 GT wheels, Sparco harnesses, worthless GT braces, and loud exhausts and test pipes for some seat time?!? You will be faster with experience, not car modifications.

My first car was a 1980 VW Scirocco, but I sold it shortly before my 18th bday. When I was 19, I had a FWD Cavalier Z24, which I thought was the bomb at the time.

A) I spent no where near 25k on my car
B) I don't want sparco harness..wth?
C) I asked about the price of those wheels, thinking he'd want a little money w/ wheels..when he said $1600 or something I said F that
D) so what if I want exhaust and test pipes too? Maybe I also like drag racing??? I never said it'd make me faster around a autox or anything
sup with the hate?

I've just held off on getting some parts I want (new bumper, side skirts, paint job) for more seat time. Although I did just pick up a new LSD..
My first car was an '87 Toyota Cressida that I got when I was 17.. loved that thing even if it had blown shocks and a bum transmission. Wish I kept it.. I could have turned it into a drift machine with proper stance like all the cool kids do these days..

See you on the 24th?
I had an oh poop moment a few weeks ago at an SCCA event.....miata came spinning at me like a top at 40-45mph. First car of the day at that.....had to do the ole run and dive, but nothing more than a bruise and cut on the knee. Luckily I was paying attention and had that extra cup of coffee before heading out. If I had just gone to that ninjitsu class I am sure I could have done a graceful back flip over it, but oh well
.
.
I went with the ATS Carbonetics 1.5 way.. Should be in tomorrow. I'll be giving Z Car a call next week to get it installed. Although I'm still debating if I should get the 3.7 gears as well.. and if I do I'd rather do it all at once.
Will be there on the 24th.

Are you planning on staying in STX? If you put on hoosiers for street prepared (say 285/30) along with a 3.7FD you might run out of gear on some faster courses. I sit on the rev limiter here during SCCA events with 285/30/18, 3.5FD, and 7100rpm redline. Just something to think about.

The ATS 1.5-way will be a nice addition.
