ok heres the story:
its monday night and i'm on my way home. so les is following me in his s, and we decide to "compare" our cars. so we are at the stop light... it turns green and with tires squealing and engines roaring we take off. so as we barely get outta the intersection, two cops that are coming in the opposite direction turn on their overheads with their sirens. they get into the left turn lane to turn around to get us. we automatically shut down, pull into the residential areas and split up. at this point my heart is pounding and my hands are shaking. i loop through the neighborhood and turn off my headlights and park on a dark street and just wait. so after ten minutes of sitting in my car i drive very slowly back to the main road and start to head home.

now when i finally meet up with les, i find out that the cops were really after us and that he had parked and started walking and the cops drove slowly right by him. later the two cop cars split up and one cop doubled back past him. the other followed the direction i went.

so neither one of us got caught tonight... but it was real close. at least this was the closest encounter for me.

 

Wow- glad you both escaped. They probably would have got you for street racing or exhibition of speed which would have sucked. Sounds like a good rush though, bet it took you a while to go to sleep that night . Were you in the city?

 

dang that sounds like from a movie or something. lucky u didn't get caught. the rush must have felt good. I remember when i went to the "runs"... all i see is cops coming out of every direction boxing us all in. kinda like Fast and the Furious. we tried to bounce but there were too many cops around. but luckily they let us off with a warning because there were so many cars that they didn't have time to write every1 up. couldn't sleep that night from all the adrenaline

 

Wow, sounds like a thrill I'd rather have read about than experienced first hand! Oh wait, I did, at least, a similar experience. Glad you got out of it alright.

I was gonna keep going on Skyline, too, but I figured the cop waiting on the shoulder was gonna ram me if I kept going, so I went into the vista point. :P

 

yea, i'm not gonna be racing michelle (mgl) anymore. it's a no win situation racing ur girlfriend. so far 3 out 4 possible "no win" outcomes have occurred:

a. one of us spins out at 110.
b. i lose. then not only does my girlfriend have a nicer car but she whoops me with it, too.
c. michelles near coronary while hiding from the cops.

it's a sign, the last time we really raced was the incident in letter 'a' up there, and now this.

 

you guys should really sign up for the thunderhill track day!

 

damn..i prob would have froze and sat there...you have ***** escaping...you think if they caught you they could say that you tried to run?

 

Yo mgl, where was this? Glad to hear that you're okay and still young. Had you been older, you mighta just had the heart attack that you mentioned earlier.

BTW, what is les running on his Type-S?

 

You guys should race at thunderhill!! Always makes things a little bit more interesting with competition. Anyways, you should have no problem getting the car up to 100-110 on the straight away

yeah, all i gotta say is no more racing for me....

driving to work today i feel hella paranoid, looking for cops that might be hiding in bushes or something
damn... my hearts starts pounding just thinking of what might have happened. think i'll go buy a lotto ticket cuz i'm so lucky.
