So, should I try the Mobil 1 M1-108 filter on my car?
I have a G. Today I went and got some Mobil1 for my next oil change. The guy said I get a FREE Mobil1 M1-108 with it. I've rejected the offer everytime and used the OEM filter since I got my car.
Today I thought what the heck, let's see what they give me. I took the filter home but now hesistant to use it since I know nothing about the M1-108s.
Just wondering if anyone here has used the M1-108 filter? How is it? Good, bad, any complications? And should I try it or go back to Nissan filter?

I used it for a few oil changes. Oil reason I don't still use it is because K&N filters are supposed to be exactly the same, except they have a nut welded on top for easier removal. I personally use the little bit longer filter though.
Of course, none of this matters now as I have to take it to the dealer for oil changes since I'm away from home. Not sure if I'll bring my own oil and filter to the dealer now or not.

I've used the M1 filters a few times, especially when the local store is having a sale on the M1 oil and filter together. If not on sale, I like the Purolator Pure One filters. But, I always buy the larger-sized filter for the Titan V8.
It's still not that cheap, but I have found the K&N version online for ~ $9.75 online with free shipping. You have to order over a certain amount though ($50 or so).

I know how you feel, but I do keep my filters on for two oil changes (around 7-8k, if I'm using conventional oil), so an extra 5-10 dollars over that many miles isn't too big a deal. Also, gas alone for that filter change interval is about 900 dollars.
I run the M1-110 on my Z and did so on my wife's car when she had a G a few years ago - no problems on either car. IIRC M1-108 is what is recommended, however, as mentioned, the 110 is a little larger.
Since you guys aren't getting the filters from the dealer, where do you guys buy new copper crush washers? I think I paid $8/filter plus $.90/washer at the dealership, which really isn't horrible.
When I did use the normal drain plug, the washers were usually in good enough shape to leave on with no leaks. I did replace them every so often, but I never felt like it was necessary.
I use the fumoto drain valve now and I like it a lot better than the drain plug. It drains a lot slower, but leaks are never a concern of mine anymore, and crush washers aren't necessary.

so, it begs the question is bigger better? or put another way...what are the advan or disadvantages of bigger or smaller filter on a engine in the Z or G?
