Ooooo great America! Do they autox there often because that is much closer to me. I'm thinking about doing the 7th though at Marina.

Not sure how often they go to Great America.. but there are a few groups and clubs who utilize that site. You can also check out http://sfr-solo.org/solo2/cgi-bin/sc...t_three_months for more events going on. The next SCCA Slush events are in Oakland after this weekend.

SCCA may have different rules on SUVs as well.. I know I've seen a Scion xB there before though.

What class are you going to be running in? Looking forward to STX myself!

My region doesn't even recognize OSP, and it still follows the guidelines of the other street prepared rules in terms of interior paneling, etc. Scott, you going to run FP or SM2? Just a guess.

Likely SM2, but I don't know the rules on FP. The OSP PAX is huge anyway! OSP is .862, and SM2 is .867. Maybe I'll clean 'er up to run in BSP! I see we have an FPL and an FS and FSP, but no FP (at least no one runs in it).

You will need all your plastics in the rear, etc to be in BSP. It seems from the latest fast track that the committee reneged on their decision to bump the evo's to ASP....amidst their numerous complaints. It's unfortunate because now BSP will remain ESP2 (evo street prepared). They would have opened the doors to the solstices, sti's, etc to get back in the game, but opted against it. Prepared gets to run real slicks and a lower weight. Sm2 is a very difficult class because just about everything you run into is FI......for instance the car that dominated the DC region was an M coupe with big boost, lots of aero, and HUGE hoosier A6's. All that got him was a 12 or 13th in class in Nebraska.

Obligatory pic:

I am thinking FP.....it isn't a hotly contested class here, however. I already got some people snooping around my car groaning about its legality for BSP. We'll see......

Wow, that M is nasty. Are those 305 A6s?

Results are up: http://norcalufo.org/main/attachment...Oct24-2010.pdf

Too bad I can't run as well in the timed runs as the fun runs (over 1s faster). Bah!

I was at the last AutoX in Marina...during the morning. I had a not-so-nice day plus had a test to study for, so I didn't stay for the afternoon.

Probably can't make it on the 7th because of a work thing.

I'm planning to run DS this next season. With new suspension (probably 350z revised) and sticky rubber I should be able to get 1st or 2nd in class. I want to get top of class so I can get a seat in a Formula SAE car once I transfer to a university. It'd be nice to do DSP but I won't be able to afford enough mods to be competitive.

If anyone has some good 245/45/18 semi-race/race used rubber (or knows where to find some) let me know please.

^ The revised 350Z springs will bump you out of DS me thinks.

UFO seems somewhat lax on their rules (Scott confirm me if I'm wrong?) and don't know if it'd pose an issue. For SCCA, it'd definitely be against the rules though (if someone was to protest).. I'm not sure if even the G35 Coupe springs would be allowed with the update/backdate rules. You can change shocks though for DS.

I did the 10/31 SCCA Slush event and placed 3rd in STX.. behind a pair of drivers sharing an RX-8. I know I still had room to improve on my final and fastest lap as I absolutely screwed up one portion.. but they were both a good 1.5 seconds ahead. My time did get me a PAX of 33rd overall which I'm pretty happy about though.

Yeah, they are lax unless someone knows and complains over something obvious. For example, if I was in BSP with no interior, someone would mumble something at some point.

We don't typically caravan given our different starting locations and arrival times, but we usually find each other in the paddock and park nearby. Anthony (ntrinsik) I think will work RG2 and run RG4, just before lunch, so he'll likely be there in the morning. I can't run until the afternoon, so will arrive late for the last event of the year.

Ok cool. Yeah I work 2 and run 4 also. It would nice to borrow a jack for coilover adjustments, but isn't necessary.

Believe I work 2 and run 4 also. I'll bring my jack.. though it's one of those cheap 1.5ton racing jacks from Harbor Freight.

I hear there might be rain in the forecast.. but Accuweather says sunshine.
