the assertion made above is that it would read high versus other dynojets, not that it reads high because conditions were optimal.

Wait... Rob actually got good numbers out of an HR?

I know the first guy that got his tuned by him got crappy gains compared to other tuners. If he can squeeze 300+ on his dyno then I need to go see him cause he finally got his tuning down right for the HR

STD or SAE, your car provided good gains on the dyno...

Come to think of it, i already talked to you about this over the phone.

But dont MOST shops provide AFR's as well as both SAE and STD numbers on their dyno charts?

I thought it was wierd that they didnt post the AFR's

He printed out a seperate sheet with SAE.

I tried calling yesterday to ask about the AFRs but no one answered so maybe I'll try calling today.

OP, you need a copy of the AFR graph. If you don't know how it looks like, then there was basically not much point of getting the tune.

BTW, did you go with a reflash or a tuner kit?

+3 on Robs dyno being about average. My 370Z Nismo is in upper middle pack but Rob knows how to extract most power from cars that he is working on.

He's working with me to get roughly 310 WHP from my 370Z motor with basic bolt ons. We will be working next week on the car. Its sitting at 301 WHP with just intakes right now. Its getting HFC and perhaps an ECU tune.

The graphs they provide are typically in SAE. Here are a few other HRs - all were in SAE:

and something a little bigger from my Z32 brothers: http://www.zcarblog.com/2009/10/01/u...-promised.html

I tried calling ZCG a couple times today but no answer so I'm going to wait a little while then call again. I'm going too see if he can email me a before/after AFR chart
If he does, I'll post it up here.

What do you consider normal?

A stock HR assuming a 15% drivetrain loss would make about 260whp. Picking up 30whp, on an HR, with bolt-ons and a tune is not an alarming figure. My wife's HR picked up 17whp just from upgrading her to the JWT dual-intake system. Nothing else. The HR responds well to bolt-ons, the non-HR - not so much.
