Any vortech owners that went from the full vortech with fmu and ss box that have switched to uprev, injectors,walbro and a tune have any issues at the visual inspection and sniffer test for smog? Im asking because I have a full vortech kit and am thinking of upgrading to uprev, larger injectors walbro and a tune. The reason I didnt just get a tuner kit to begin with is because I wanted a smog legal kit. Now that I have the smog legal kit, the fmu/ss box headaches are surfacing and I'm realizing I should have went the tuner kit route to begin with. I suppose the carb number attached to the blower would assist in passing a visual inspection but experience from others would give me a better idea. Thoughts and opinions are appreciated thanks.

 

Well my car is in getting all this done and more. Why would you think anyone would notice? A uprev tune would make everything more accurate and not run as rich which would clean up ur sniffer if anything. You cant visually see any of that. At least from a smog check standpoint.....ur safe.

 

Smog check is only done at partial throttle, not WOT. You will be running off a stock map when it comes to the smog test.

My friend just passed w/ flying colors, he has Vortech V2 with DW 600s, Walbro intank, and tuned via Uprev. He's in Southern California.
