Hey Bay Area members, just saw a commercial (yup, watching TV right now... I'm sick today... ) on Fox (KTVU) for an 'affordable' sports car comparison tonight on the 6 o'clock news (with Tom Vacar, consumer analyst)... featuring (what I saw) an EVO, a STi, and... a RX-8. First of all, the RX-8 doesn't belong on a "sports" car comparison... second, where was the 350Z on this affordability comparison?

Maybe they will show the Z tonight, but from the cars racing on a track in the commercial, it wasn't shown. Hey guys/gals, check it out tonight if you can... I am.

edit: correction... on the 6 o'clock news tonight, KTVU Fox.

I was just thinking that it is a little strange that we've never met since we live so close to each other. Especially with all the meets. Now I'm finally going to a meet and you got sick. haha... how strange.

Now it just hit me.... I may have met you once in the J-Town garage.... the day of that s2k meet. I can't remember.

Yeah, if you were there, then you saw me (my Z at least). I came in to the garage about fifteen or so minutes before you guys were to leave... I did speak with blured for a sec... You would have recognized me by my plate.

I hope to make it, and if anything, at least a short part of the ring drive.

Hope to see you around the roads of the EB some time (as well as the next meet)... I am situated near the Hilltop area.

Actually... I think the Goryeo exhibition is still there... Sunday was the last day for some of the individual exhibits...

Yeah, the Z should've been there... I think I saw a Crossfire in the lineup but they decided to only feature the cars with four doors. Just as well... the Z is much cooler than all the cars featured... don't wanna others to start thinking our car is just another fast econobox or something... or in the same league as the RX-8...

 

Did they have the S2K?

 

No S2K... they showed the Crossfire, STi, Evo, and RX-8, but only track tested the four door cars... was a Consumer Reports test with Tom Vacar covering the rest. They did emphasize the circa $30K price tag for the sports vehicles, as well as the fact that one can obtain a copy of GT3 for only $20 or so bucks for virtually the same thrills.
