Default Drift and grip: Thunderhill

Anyone planning on going to this? Deadline is 1/12/04.

http://www.myautoevents.com/pls/mae/...63621277149571

http://www.ncda.net/events.htm

West half of the track will be drifting. East half will be normal driving.

I think I'm going to sign up- anyone else interested?

was thinking about going, past the info out to Chad after the track day. But I already missed the early bird special so don't really feel like spending the extra ~40-50? Not to mention I didn't get new tires yet....

we'll see...

Haha Dave just burn off your old tires Jason if you go let me know! Do they have instructors or do they just say go drift in that corner?

I'm already good at spinning out, so I must be a awesome drifter hahah. Drifting is a expensive sport

I believe there will be instructors- but not sure if there will be enough for ride along. I was planning on doing the regular (grip) driving.

Ah- I saw you on the registration list- I was trying to figure out who had the sole 350- I saw American Canyon and knew it was someone from the board but couldn't put my finger on it.

I got enough tail sliding action at our last "rainy" track event. Curious to see what Thunderhill is like when it's dry.

with your setup, I think you'll be quite thrill on a dry day... I don't think I would be able to keep up with you....

Dumb track newbie question. What do you do with all the stuff you bring to the track? Do you just leave it unattended at the paddocks while you're out on the track, or is there a safe place to put everything?

I saw a few pics of the people who went on the 20th. It looked like fun! Failsafe, are you the one who got mud? Is it between turns 1 and 2? The short strait then to a wide u.

I hope its dry also, usually during jan. its raining.

I been there once and got to ride in my friends supra. Now I want to duplicate that thrill.

can't wait

Usually leave it on the paddock. People seem to be pretty cool and not mess with other drivers equipment. There are also garages that you can rent.

No that wasn't me in the mud- I think Dennis went off at 15 (the corner between the front and back straights).

I tend to bring one of those huge plastic container with a lid and a lot of large trash bags. Just don't bring anything you think is too valuable, well besides some basic tools. Anyways, as long as it's out of sight, most people wouldn't mess with it.

I might go...but can't drift because of an AT.
Anyone has a passenger seat available? I might just go up to take pictures of you guys so you don't have to pay $30

You don't have to drift- they are breaking the track into two sections- one half for drifting, one half for regular driving. But if you still don't want to race your car you can ride up with me. Haven't signed up yet but I'm about 90%, probably this week.

Well the bad news is that I can't make this event as I now have to spend the next few weeks moving. The good news is that my wife and I scored a nice house to rent. No more apartment living- I now have a garage!!!!!!!!!
