Great meet, everyone! I feel sorry for the three cars that got forced off on the side to make way for the Z caravan from Hearst Castle to Big Sur. But not that sorry. At least they got to see 20-some Z's passing by. That was one tight caravan, yo! Henry Incognito almost wiped out, but it wasn't where anyone but our group could see, so it was all good.
On the drive back, it was just soooo awesome to see all the HID's in my rearview mirror. We mostly maintained the caravan. One person jumped ahead of the slower cars and punched it on Hwy-1. Another turned off for a Chevron station on the right hand side when we were approaching Salinas. A third continued on Hwy-1 when we all went on 156. A fourth passed me on 156 and kept going. I tried to stick with the caravan just in case anybody got lost, but after we got on 101, I took off too.
I ended up at the Capitol Chevron around 10-ish (time lost meaning for me, though, honestly), and while I was waiting in line to get $2.249/gal for premium, there were two SS's that pulled onto the side of the road after me. I think they were from our convoy. They didn't get gas, though, and looked like they were talking. If you guys were afraid of the line, you needn't have been. I was at the pump within 7 minutes of lining up.
Thanks again for organizing, Dave! And thanks to Chad for organizing dinner. Hope all made it home safe and sound. I'm gonna go look at pix now.
