So "B" is the designation for novice class?

no, "N" is novice... B is just the class ur car is in... like the s2000's are also in B (but the new '04 are in A class)... in essence, SCCA classifies these cars to make it more "fair" when competing... a stock WRX is in DS... if it was in BS, the driver would not be competitive against the other cars, hence unlikely to win... here are all the classifications for Solo2 AutoX:

I don't think I have anything planned for Sunday. Might just roll with you two to go watch. Jason, I'll give you a call tomorrow if I end up going so we can roll together.

OK, I am new to this kind of event, and I must say the SCCA web site is not very helpful.

Is this an event I can come and just look at? Is there an entrance fee forspectators?

At what time would you guys be running?

I would love to stop by, so let me know.

Oh man, the adrenaline is still pumping!

Thank you so much for telling me about this event. I dropped by this afternoon and met 2 Z owners, one of which let me ride shotgun for 3 runs! It was absolutely awsome, especially since he did some of the best times.

I am hooked. Since I don't have a membership yet, I will not be able to run tomorrow, but I will stop by again, this time in my Z instead of the Stealth.

See you all tomorrow.

nice turn out, my s2k friend was like, "wow, why are there all these Zs today?" haha....
anyways... *****, failsafe, Yellow Stealth, sorry you guys didnt get to run today... next time, just go to the registration desk and say you are a guest, they'll take u in as long as there is no more than 15 guests per event.
Ray, nice times, better than the other brick i believe... cant keep up w/ you guys with big grippy tires... still trying to burn off my stock re40s... my fastest lap was 61.352... but you guys were getting 58s... i was trying to break 60, because yestarday i did 60.553 but i spoke to one of the chairs and they said they made the course a tad longer than the one yestarday, plus it was backwards... anyways, fun fun fun!
BTW, if anyone was "surprised" to meet me, please keep it on the down low thx

Well it was fun- I think I will need to ride with one of you sometime- I may eventually try to get out and autocross ever once in a while. But I'd rather save my "racing" money for the track. More bang for the buck as D'oh and I were discussing.

Nice to meet you all- D'oh, Ray, Yellow Stealth. George, goo to see you again man- are you thawed out yet? Nice to meet you too zuddenly- and yes I was surprised. Threw me off enough that I didn't say hi when I first pulled up.

yea i'd have to admit track is more bang for the buck, but it so dam expensive to put down $200 for on one day and have to drive 3 hours to get there... autoX is simplier for me... its smaller payments... if i had the money, i'd be going the track a LOT more... last time was at t-hill, and it was a $hit load of fun... plus autoxing is another way to practice and its more precise in terms of competition... open track, there are no actual times, so its harder to brag about it ... not that i can w/ my times haha LOL

doh! i just realized that the other brick was D'oh! anyways, you guys were both FAST... nice times. when i get new tires, hopefully i can compete you guys in BS, but for now i'll stay in BS-N...
failsafe, you can ride with one of us sometimes (there is an autoX every weekend for the next two weekends)... autoX actually teaches you a lot about car control... and its a safer place to spin out than the track, so i think its definitely worth the money...

Yeah it was nice to meet some new z'ers... I have to say that I'm definitely more interested in autoxing now than before.... it's more expensive than I thought tho.... although I imagine the wear on the car is less severe than a track day. So that might offset the cost.

Anyhow... the competition factor is way cool. I think that's the main attraction for me at this point.

the wear on the car is mostly on the poor tires haha... and the risk is far lower than high speed open track... one mistake on a track and you may see thousands of dollars worth of damage, not to mention a few weeks w/o your car

mistakes on autoX, and you eat a few cones... no biggy... just need to buff the paint...

anyways, hope to see you next time (next sunday) Round 6 , its in Marina, a little farther than usual, but i'm pretty sure i'll be there.
