I think we should keep the design simple with only 2 or 3 colors. Back in HS days when I was making T-shirts for clubs, it was pretty expensive to silkscreen full color photos onto t-shirts. Unless of course we all go get the press your own photo on t-shirts kits
and of course, considering we'll only be making 20-30 of these, it's gonna be pricy per shirt.
anyhow, I have a design in my head, but just haven't got around to put it down on paper.
A super deformed anime style silver 350z with text on the top and bottom. like below
Norcal
<Imagine a picture of Super deformed anime style silver 350z>
350Z
now I just need to sit down and draw that anime 350z
or we can go with mgl's freestyle paintbrush edition

I decided to quit the design... I like what Jas has up. This is what I had done so far... the red oval was supposed to encompass the NorCal area (which would include Nick in Santa Cruz) while serving as a background to help the Z and the Shift logo white lettering show up on a white b/g on a T-shirt, per se. It also served to balance the design against the tilting look of CA. But kinda looks like a Japan reference...
Brian, maybe a closeup of the map would be in order. After all, right now as it stands you've got Tahoe and almost SLO as part of "NorCal". But other than that, I agree with what Jason says.

wow!!! california is HUGE!!! the state will cover the entire shirt.
nice job brian on the design.... but how about instead of the state of california, maybe narrow the scope limited to norcal or the bay area. how about putting the golden gate bridge in the background and remove the state.
(i would draw it with my mad artisitic skillz, but i'll leave that to u guys, the photoshop experts
