zuddenly,
Since you have done these for a while now, can you clarify something for me? I looked at the SCCA web site and understand the 350Z stock is in the BS class. Is the only run for BS the first one in the morning? What are those other classes named BSP and BSPV? I couldn't find a description for them.

well, if you're just a guest of a member and u wanna try it out... you can pretty much run any class u want... so if u cant make BS run group, then u can shoot for something else like say SM2... but yea, if you're competitive and are shooting to win this season, you have to run the designated run group (morning or afternoon, run groups rotate every event)...
if you're stock like me... u run BS, but since BS actually allows you to have race tires, and there's no way i can compete with them (plus i suck)... i run BS-N (B Stock-Novice), because i'm still on the stock street tires... BSP stands for B Street Prepared ... another class that the Z can run is SM2 (Street modified 2 seater)... each of these classes have their own rules and restrictions... and SCCA publishes a thick handbook just to list out all the restrictions for each class... even I am still unsure of all the rules... plus, so far, it doesnt apply to me, because i havent decided to mod my car yet....
however, to roughly answer all your questions: click here for general guidelines
i think for stock classes, you're allowed to have different shocks, front sway, any part of the exhaust system past the catalytic converter (if quiet),
wheels must be same size as stock (depending on ur model... i.e., if u have the 17s on your base model, you can not use the 18s off a track model and still be in stock class), ride height must be stock.
in the end, they really dont check unless you're really competitive and fast, and ppl suspect that you're cheating because you have illegal mods for your class.

I saw a telecast once that compared mika hakkinen to michael shumacher. The commentator said that the difference between a good driver and a great driver could be seen when one compares two drivers like hakkinen and shumacher. While both drivers were capable of similar laptimes in virtually equal cars, Schumacher has this ability to jump out there and perform a extremely fast hot lap on demand. His first one or two laps are the fastest. In the other hand, Hakkinen took some time get up to speed.
I just thought of it now while glancing at the 'usual' course map.
hehe
