Installed HKS Hypermax IIs
So after waiting two months, I finally got my HKS Hypermax IIs. I actually hauled it back from Japan because I sent it to my folks' house. Man, those suckers were heavy. But it was worth it, considering I got it for $1200.
I installed the coilovers yesterday, and I was shocked. The ride is actually BETTER than the stock set up. In terms of performance, I still need to dial in the shock settings, but it feels pretty good so far. I took it up to Calaveras last night to try out the new suspension, and the car felt very predictable and gone is the rear-wheel "chatter" going into corners with rough pavement. The rear slides out much more predictably and smoothly than the stock set up, and the understeer has been reduced a bit.
But the thing that impressed me most was the fact that the car rides like a champ now. I no longer feel the constant bounciness on the freeways that I felt with the stock set up. I think I can handle driving this car on long trips now.
