If you are talking about the HIDs, no. The quality of the light output on my HIDs are the same since I didn't color the back section of the HID unit. Although I blacked out the back section of the turn signal, it is still bright when I turn on my signal even during the day. Also, I'm still using my OEM amber bulbs which seem to disappear with the black background. I was considering putting LED bulbs but I think I'm going to keep my OEMs since you barely notice them anyway. BTW...Toby lets you choose either a flat black or glossy black. I chose the glossy black.

WSchli1672,
"Clear Housing" is simply just removing the orange strip from the headlight housing (or, as an in some cases replacing it with a clear/white reflector). This look retains the chrome look that the headlight housing originally has.
"Blacked Out Housing" is when you paint all the chrome areas within your headlight black w/ the exception of the area right behind the high beams. I've posted several pictures of mine on this thred.
If you would still like to see the difference, you can see similar ones at this site:

Hope this helps

Had mine for almost a month now and no fogging so far. I think the only issue you'll have with having yours done is the timeframe of you sending them out to get them done and getting them back. You'll have no headlights for a while unless you so happen to have extra ones off on the side or don't plan on driving your car for that waiting period. Timewise...it only takes a few hours.
