Default What Cellphone / carrier do you guys have?

So, what do the bay area Z members have stuck to their ear?! I currently have a Moto v600, but want to switch to something different. AT&T is my carrier.

Nextel. Not the cheapest cellular carrier and the coverage areas are spotty, but the customer service is good as is reception (when you can get it). Oh, and PTT is a pretty convenient feature as well

Oh, and there isn't a vast amount of phones to choose from as well. Boy, did I just blow this sale or what?

I had AT&T before, but then they jacked me so I had to drop them.

AT&T here too.. been a customer for 7 years on and off... sometimes I think about switching carriers but I always end up extending my contract and I don't want to pay an early termination fee.

Well, I have a Cingular branded v600, with AT&T service, and its not working.

The phone constantly reboots. And its only with MY sim card installed. I have gotten 3 brand new phones, and 4 different SIM cards and it still does the same thing.

If I put my roomies SIM card in it, it works fine... and no one can help me figure out the problem.

So... I don't know what to do, other than get a differnt phone, and sell this BRAND NEW v600. (still has the plastic on the outter screen) ... I know it works with other sims ... just not mine for some reason.

I need phone suggestions... make and model.

I have AT&T. whats cool about it now is that you can roam Cingular networks. So if I don't have signal for AT&T, it switches to Cingular and I have signal again. too bad Cingular folks can't roam AT&T networks.. or can they?

Its most likely because of software error, its like when you bring in a unlocked world phone from asia or something of the sort, it doesnt read off our network correctly because the phone is not locked to our network only.

We can, its just that we dont need to, it only switches over when the signal is not present, since Cingular's network is more robust than ATT we have no need to switch over to their network at all. It's because ATT still has tdma networks so their coverage is very weak in their GSM market.

Used to have AT&T. coverage in bay area was somewhat spotty. Often was difficult to understand what other person was saying. At work we switched to Nextel. Bay Area coverage is about the same as AT&T but when away from cities Nextel doesn't seem to have coverage like AT&T had. We do use the 'quick connect' for work related calls.

The phone is a Nextel branded <Motorola i730. no complaints about the phone.

I'm with ATT now and I'm really hating it for the past year. Hopefully when Cingular and ATT finishes up it'll be much better. I had Verizon for 7 years and it was the best coverage ever. Switched only because ATT had better looking phones and can be used in Asia. : (

I have Cingular and it's mostly used in the Sunnyvale/Los Altos area. Coverage is very spotty and calls get dropped allot. The only thing I like is the selection of phones, sim card to easily switch phones, and there pricing.

I have a Kyocera 7135, it is large by todays standards but is runs Palm 4, I can run GPS mapping programs though it, play MP3s and make my own ring tones from any MP3 (my "Nobodies Perfect" by Madonna is just awesome, you got to hear it go off in a meeting to get the full effect). It also connects to the Verizon Express network so when I travel, like now, I can dial in and run at 240k on my laptop or phone.

My carrier is Verizon, with the America's Choice nation wide 800, it is one of the few carriers that works at my house in radio free San Jose, and other than the data-center (kevlar reinforced and copper shielded) I get reception everywhere.

AT&T is what my wife had before we switched her to Verizon and that always seemed ok.
