FunkMasterFlex Car show 3/14/09
Don't give up on us.
We're trying to make sure what happened this year is not repeated so that it will be a better experience for everyone. Being that we were all together inside the center this year, side effects of it all was wearing all of us thin. Heck, we believe we spent more time trying to police all the noise makers than we did judging vehicles. Oh, and the funk master flex people....
*thud*
One word, wow.
I know we threatened and almost kicked out some participants as well as having the power pulled from vendors due to the noise they were creating.
I laugh at the thought that we could have made a killing on ear plugs and headache medication.

You mean the Ultimate Class? I wish they did have an Elite class. Some of the cars put in Ultimate should have been in street. (no offense Russ
) Many competitors were talking about that. And no.. I didn't win anything. From what i was told, I would have if the Ultimate Class judge judged my car but due to running out of time, someone else judged it that scores all cars much lower.
It was definitely quite disappointing, especially when 2nd place didn't even have a body kit or even a turbo. It was all a mixup and stressful but, my headache is gone finally and I am back to work.

Yeah, the same judge that hit my car got his too at the last minute. I was surprised too. Rich always takes home an award. his has always been one of my show fav's.
Btw way Rich, you didn't spike my red bull ! Would have been much nicer weekend with a nice buzz. haha

No offense taken.
Actually, we held back some cars to street that were in ultimate last year.
Basically what it boils down to is the rule book. The rules state what modifications belong to which category. We have the authority based on the amount of modifications in each category to determine what we'll place each vehicle within. So a vehicle can have a few mods that are considered ultimate based on the rules, and we can hold that vehicle back depending how minimal that mod is and how many there are of that nature. Once there's enough mods or some mods that are considered strong enough, we'll put them in the next category without question.
What we did discuss this go around is changing the rule book for next year. We want to change which mods fall into each category.
As of right now, you can download the pdf file of the rules from here - www.iasca.com tuner jam rules PDF file
That should make a little more sense as to what was going on during classing.

btw, the blue gtr was great in some places of the work, but a hack job in minor areas.
I told the shop owner where it could be improved for the car's owner. Judging from the shop owner's own remarks and expressions, he didn't like me too much.

He actually had the audacity to imply that it should get high points simply for being a gtr. He backed up that thought by adding in that it was a graciously modded one that had everything on it that was currently available on the market.
Afterwards, I took great pride in knowing that I classed and judged it fairly. Fairly meaning that it got what it deserved.
When it came to your Z Gina, we had initial intentions of having one judge do all the ultimate vehicles. It just so happened that the spread of judges stretched us for time with all the commotion created by other contestants/vendors. So next year, we're planning on have ground rules set ahead of time to avoid a repeat of headaches.

From: Back to Boca.. Bye O-town
I did notice that the brakes were just sprayed all the nuts and screws.. I just wanna see the actual caliper.
Russ those tires were just seriously stretched for that look.. Im sure he couldnt fit like some insane tire in the rear but chose the stretch look.
Putting the hood up and down took 3 people and sounded horrible.. (like paint scraping)
I wasnt diggin the suede in some parts
But lets face it - thats all of our dream car.. widebody GTR? nuts.
