FunkMasterFlex Car show 3/14/09
I like the wide body idea, but the rest just turns me off even though I understand it was done for show. With that in mind, and the shop person (owner?) openly admitting they rushed the job, they should have taken the time to do the work correctly.
I had already seen pictures of this GTR posted by another member much earlier than the show, and despite my initial reactions, I reserved my opinion until seeing it in person. Needless to say, it was a let down.
That GTR, in all its failed glory, is a prime example of a 20 footer. From 20 feet away, it looks good until you get up close and crawl underneath the dash, body, and look in between everything. There are good parts to it as well that I haven't really focused on yet. The exterior paintwork looks good along with the molding job. The interior has some nice ideas on audio visual placement, but the follow through needs more attention.
With time and patience, it can become what they want it to be and will be a better show piece. Hopefully, they get it done right and also get tires that suit the nature of the car. Stretched tires on that car, in combination with them claiming it has every available upgrade, are not appropriate at all.
