HELP! Tap and Die set
Hey guys, sorry if this is a shisty place to post this, but I was hoping somebody near Orlando had a die I can borrow?
I was installing lowering springs, and I kinda stripped the thread on one of my bolts.
Turns out the bolt diameter is 12mm, and the thread is 1.25 threads per mm, which is a very obsucure combo for a die. All the sets I saw had either 10mm diameter w/ 1.25 tpmm or 12mm diameter w/ 1.5 1.5 tpmm.
Anyway does someone have a 12mm w/ 1.25 tpmm die I can borrow? I will kick you some dough for the trouble.
Pm me if you can help out!
Thanks!

The Die set is a tool you can use to re-thread a bolt that has stripped threads. It is made with high speed stainles steel, and when you rotate the tool over the bolt it will re-groove the metal so you will be able to thread a nut over it.
Dies come in various sizes and the thing that determines what size die you need is a.) the diameter of your bolt (the threaded part of the bolt itself, not the head, which is how we commonly describe bolt sizes), and b.) the spacing of the tread on the bolt. I am sure it is not a coincidence that Nissan used an extrememly odd bolt diameter/thread spacing combination, so that people would just need to order a new bolt if they stripped it out.
I have looked at Harbor freight and tools, sears, ace hardware, lowes, home depot. If anyone know of a bad-*** tool shop in town let me know!
Here is a link to the exact die, I can't find it at any shop in town:

Here is a website that specializes in taps and dies:

Crisis averted! I called Ace Hardware, and apparently their online inventory is not indicative of their in-store inventory, and the had the die I needed.
I was able to re-thread the bold no problem.
This is a pretty commone bolt size used in few different places, so someone give me a shout if they ever run into this problem.
