so while doing the whole theme park vacation thing in socal I decided to check out a couple "tuner" shops around the area. the first place I took a look at was super autobacs which was pretty crazy. the had a few of their D1 drift cars parked in front of their store which was pretty fricken huge (for an aftermarket shop anyways). unfortunately I didn't find anything I really wanted...at least nothing that I could fit in a suitcase. they had a lot of stuff though...rims and tire packages galore, exhausts, body kits, sounds, etc etc and all actually IN STOCK. probably the coolest thing was their service area which kinda looked professional and clean like a midas, but they acutally has prices listed for installing drop springs, exhausts and all kinds of other aftermarket items. damn I wish we had a shop like that here. the other shop I checked out was motorsports auto which was pretty much the same type of small 'order in parts' shop you'd see here, except that they specialize in Z's. so you can pretty much order anything you want though them.

PS: I saw someone standing in front of a black Z at Vakamon....was that you Punish_her?

 

naw, I gotta Daytona blue one. I'm stopping by this weekend to see if they will do a quick base line before I start installing. Goin on a trip the 30th and gonna be gone for 2 weeks. When I get back, Im starting the installs then.

cant friggin wait. waiting driving me nuts! me need parts now.

 

I know how you feel. when I set my mind on getting something its all I can think about. I'm just glad I haven't conviced myself that I need FI yet...or maybe I just haven't come up with the money.

on a side note, does anyone know someone who owns a SS perf coupe with a vietnam vet lic plate? I used to be the only person around my area with a Z and then all of a sudden theres one parked right next to me...

I guess that was me. I went there with a friend cause he needed some parts to finish his motor swap (SR in a S14). Was also supposed to get quotes for rims, but forgot when we got there
