more turbo questions on oahu
I called sonic motorsports yesterday, they seemed to have a good rep. They are calling me back on monday to see what the best price I can get on a greddy kit is. They said i am probably better off buying from a vendor here though because it will be cheaper. Install for the greddy tt was quoted at $1900 which includes a new clutch (not sure if it actually includes the clutch or just installation). I think i am still leaning towards turbonetics ST though because install is much cheaper and the kit is cheaper as well. They said they have never done a turbonetics kit. Do you guys think i should go with someone who has installed a TN kit, or does it not matter because the kit is so basic? I would fumble my way through it myself but i dont have the time or the tools. thanks

The price seems right for the TT install. Mine was $2995 because I had way more **** put on than the normal kit. The ST kit will be much cheaper. They have the competance to do either kit your looking at, if you got the patients.
It will take 1-2 weeks for them to do the basic kit. They had mine much longer because I had to leavve the country so they kept tuning it to get it right. They did alot of street tuning w/out charging me so they can learn the Greddy Emanage Ultimate GUI and features.
With the clutch you are going to install, what is it? I have the JWT and so far no slippy, and I'm over 400rwhp. Too much more would be over kill if you dont plan on going higher boost.
Basicly for the turbo kit where do you wanna be when your done? Are you plannin gon going all out forged engine, sleeves, 650+whp? Both kits have potential but if your shooting for that realm youll bave to spend more money for a TN upgrade so that will pu you in the same ball park as the Greddy TT ( good for 650+whp).
Compared to Hypersport, Sonic's is good gravy man. Good luck on your build.

The only place I know of that has done the TN kit is Vakamon. The person that has had them do the install had multiple problems, due to install. I wouldnt recommend them at all! Mike took my suggestion and went to Sonics, I'm happy to hear that he chose that route. They put together a PowerEnterprise TT on G35 as well, no problems on that car all the while being the strong car on our superlap circuit being current HRP street car record holder. I think you should take Mikes and my suggestion, as for either Seth, Robert, or Elliot...tell'm Billete from superlaps referred you.
I think the turbonetics kit will be fine for my use. My Z is my daily driver, (i have 55k on it now, but dont drive nearly as much as i did in college). I don't need 600hp, but i want more than stock. Sonic quoted the TN install for $520 which seams like an incredibly good price. Most people are pushing 380rwhp on stock internals and the TN kit, which I think will work out for me. I have never had a turbo before though, so I dont know how big the lag difference is between a single/twin. I deploy in the early summer for 6 months, so i am debating whether I want to do it before i leave or when I get back.
On a different note, i bought seat covers from wet okole, and they should be in in about a month. I will post pics when i get them.

The TN kit is way easier to put together than the Greddy Kit. That is a good price. I would go with that. Do it when you get the chance because they are going to fill up fast.
Sonics is quickly becoming the goto place on Island for Z's/G's. They have 2 engines being built up right now and Seth is actually gonna get a Z soon. Like I said before they have a rep for being a little slower but are putting out Z's/G's with ZERO problems.
At least we have carved a nich in the comunity for our cars on island. Fok Hanoda and Accura's.
