ATS man OMG im telling you...and the Half shalf things are hit or miss...since we have no track here I would wait on that cause the odds they will break are small....the only people I have heard break em were launching at 5-6K with slicks...

Yeah still trying to determine the next step I know what I need to get done I just have a hard time deciding whats next. I realy would like to just buy every thing at once and get it over with. But I need to build up the o'l savings again. So I am gonna say one in December, one in February. To spread things out.
I need to realy clean up the bay tough. Gonna get the fluid containers stuffed away some where and change out the cold air tubes. After all the tests I did the only diffrence the tubes made were on idle at lights as soon as the car was moving over 10mph the intake temps are roughly the same +- 3deg or so.
Still got some work I need to do... Even if I dont need to buy much more.

So monday I stopped by and talked to Seth about some one wanting to buy my SSV and dropped off my diffy to get installed. To much too explain but I definately do not have time right now to do it. Got real busy real quick!
Seth being the ever diligent sales man baited me a little. We were chatting about a few things and he asked what I was gonna do plans wise for a radiator. I told him that in the future I plan on getting a Koyo Racing radiator.
He kinda got that Seth grin going and said, "Hey we happen to have those in stock right now." and went over to the end of the counter and opened up a big Koyo box I didnt see and boom larger than life a fat a$$ radiator. Long storry short I told him if the SSV gets sold I'll by the radiator. So yeah um that would be good.
Then we started talking about clutches, and he brought up online a Spec clutch that holds the power I want and its $1400 less than I was wanting to spend on a clutch. Needless to say I had to leave before making any prommises I had to keep. I may buy it in december though, then January time my car will be ready for 650 once the half shafts get put in.
So yeah things are comming together quicker than I planned, but hell thats my whole project. I had a 4 year pland and its turned into a 2 year plan. But thats me being alittle obsessive compulsive about my hobbies.
Hey Seth did the engine get there ok, and did the parts come back from coating? If so hows the engine and how do the parts look?

It's realy depending on your power goals. A good baseline is over 650 sleeve it. Under 650 dont sweat it. Its all dealing with the structural integridity of the cylinder walls. They realy havnt been proven or disproven over 650 but your looking at almost 2.5 times more WHP and at that point with full forged internals the walls have ALOT of pressure on them.
If you are currious about pricing drop Todd an email his user name here is 350zDCalb. They got great pricing on fully timed engines. That will save you money in the long run, especialy with prices now exceeding $80 an hour at many shops on island. They have great turn arround times especialy if you get one with the specs they have on the shelf. At that point you can pay, drop your core payment and the engine will be out the door in nothing flat. Overall their engines are REALY affordable, even the rout I went.

Yea I heard someone ran the Turbonetics ST with a build block and no cams to about 490WHP or something so If I build the block and upgrade Fuel and get a UTEC I may be looking at 525WHP with the kit I have now.
What does a motor swap cost?
I figure 7-9K motor
1K fuel upgrade
1K UTEC
so 9-11K more or less plus labor for installation / Dyno tune
My wheels are painted black and I have major rock chips but I aint fixing that crap till I move back to the states. I love my home Island, Waialua class of 99 baby...lol.... but the roads dont love my Z

UTEC and the goodies are bout 1300'ish
3800 for a GTM short block so maybe 3000 extra will get me cams and assembly with HKS gasket and L19 studs or something..Ill go to about 8K on the block and I don't think I'll be doing the over sized valves like you did. From what I have been reading if I plan on staying in the 600WHP zone and keep in mind the Kit I have now will only do 500WHP I shouldn't need the valve train you gots.

The valve train I just couldnt pass up for any thing. Got an awsome deal on the parts that saved an @$$ load of cash and I figured why not. Realy looking at getting back to break her in so I can get a good tune on her. After this trip (since Im staying a week longer than planned) I should be able to get my clutch. The SPEC clutch Seth turned me onto holds 650ish RWTq (correct me if Im wrong Seth), and has a decent pedal feel. So yeah after a decent break in Im ready to go.
DUDE 8k on a short block will get you some decent parts, or is that including install and what not?
It will be almost 2 years exactly from when I started planning to when I get her 95% finished. Thats a pretty decent pace, especialy with all the litte pain in the @$$es that have happened. That last 5% is whats gonna take some patients. Half shafts and brakes. Yeah I dont realy need either right now but I am looking 2 years down the road when I have the car in a place where I can stretch her legs a bit and see how she does on a track.
Yeah there are always little refinements and upgrades to be done but those are on an as needed bassis. Definately not patting myself on the back, any thing could happen
.
I got 380cc Injectors which will hold me off for now until I run more boost they are small tho so I can do much more with them. I've read that the DeatschWerks are pretty good for something bout 550cc and since I will be upgrading they are only like 350.00 so that should work for some moderate power. I really want to do the motor swap myself
since I got the family automotive hook up but I need to research some other things 1st. If I don't do the motor until I leave Hawaii I will have someone like Forged do it (or wait until this car is the garage baby cause my dream home will have a 2 car bay and apoxy deck...hehe)
So I'm not sure yet the block is holding me off Temporarily until I can decide what the hell I want to do with it. Maybe I will just give it a year and drop 10K....Stage 2 for Turbonetics is supposed to be very interesting and they include some fuel modifications and EMS so I have to wait a week or so to see if my current mod plan is acceptable.
BTW I went to Waialua High school with someone named Seth wonder if thats him
Oahu is damn small hehe

I guess an update. On the way home and the car looks like it may be out by the by the end of the week.
After I get paid for this trip I'll either buy the SPEC clutch and KOYO riadiator, or the DSS LV5 half shafts. Either way its only getting a 500-550 ish tune until I get all 3. Hell if all goes well I can get one more trip by the end of the year make a quick 2 grand and do them all at once
Once Im at the level I want to be (600-650WHP) it will be a mad dash to get all my total debt down to just the car only. That way I can roll those payments and available income into the car and have the balance paid off in a year or so.
Time to be responsible and get out of debt totaly. That way I can free up about 1.5g's a month.... HMMM what can I do with that
?

Still waiting on parts to come back from coatings. So engine install is gonna happen when I am gone
