The GTM® Turbo Spec cams were designed by taking a complex set of variables into account. Turbocharger compressor maps and the flow characteristics of the VQ35DE were integral in developing the cam profile. The very specifications that were attained (following several revisions and countless computerized simulation trials) allow for the maximum possible volumetric efficiency over the broadest possible rpm range. Given the high exhaust manifold pressures (that exceed intake/boost pressures) found on turbocharged systems, volumetric efficiency, aside from duration/lift, is also dependent on internal exhaust gas recirculation, which is a function of intake/exhaust cam overlap. The specifications below minimize that overlap, while retaining the highest practical cam duration, to yield the highest possible performance.
Specifications
Intake: 256 deg (stock 238)
Exhaust: 264 deg (stock 240)
Lift: 0.423” (intake and exhaust)
Overlap: 18 deg (at 0.045” lift) – less than stock
Note: the cams are cut from chill cast billet (same as the OEM Nissan camshafts) and ground on factory centerline for perfect precision.

WOW looks like some one did a lot of "research" (copy & paste) for their post, now dosnt it?
Hmm less lift... Figured the lift would be slightly more than stock. Well I gues if they did their home work then it's cool. How much they set you back?

lol I would guess about 1100, package deal so can't be 100% certain. GTM has put out a set of Cams for Supercharger/ NA applications as well. These Cams are new so well C whats up.

Now that this has been quite quiet for a while due to me being on the road I think I need to update.
The car should be ready for a breakin and all. Gonna try and put as many miles on it as possible to get the breakin out of the way. Hopefuly by Mid January she will be ready for a tune.
A few extra goodies were added too, the Koyo Radiator, Tomei 2 way diff, a new fuel pressure regulator, and the Stage 5 Spec clutch.
Trying to find a good rad catch can to get rid of that Greddy POS plastic can and a similar one for the windshield washer fluid tank.
I also have a few samll projects comming down the pipe too.

OK
Here we go.
Picked up the car yesterday my first impression:
The tone is noticeably (sp) deeper than before its boardering on a low tone of a V8'ish at idel.
The spec clutch definately needs to break in. You can tell its semi metalic type clutch because you here the metal to metal squeal when its partialy enguaged. But that ***** grabs hard! That thing is gonna be vicious once I can get on it.
The Tomei is wicked. Its not broke in yet but when you let the clutch out ll the way; you are definately moving forward. You can realy feal it in a turn. I was skeptical when people said you can feal it push you through a turn but it realy feals like that. Rock solid stable and the pressure if the push through the turn. It has a slight pop but that will more than likely cease after breakin.
After seeing how little room there is now (had to take off catch can until I can find a seperate mounting point), I will end up keeping the relocation of the filters because there is no room at all in the bay. I'll probably go with a more ridged ducting and trim some of the area to let the ducting bend better.
Ok the bad notes a totaly unrelated problem caused me to have to bring the Z back an hour after I picked it up. I was filling up the tank when out of no where gas started pouring out from under the car. WTF!!!!! So I call Seth and drive it back to Sonics. They pop it open and low and behold the damn O-ring on the fuel retun system blew and was letting gas leak out because its lower than the fill port. So I left it there and there was still one unresolved issue with the ignition. Still throwing missfire code and running rough.
Over all its sluggish right now because the 8.6:1, cams and no boost. But I can definately see where the sum of the parts will be greater than the whole once every thing comes together. Im definately moving in the right direction but still got a few kinks to work out.

So yesterday I stopped by Sonics to put the regestration in the car and check up on how it was going. The rough idle issues were due to the butt crimps I did when I first got back and the engine was screwed up. Yeah for some reason the the back side of side cutters are not the best thing to crimp with
. Yeah next time something screws up, I will take my time and wire it right; not damn near rip it out and search my car for any connectors that will fit. DER DEEE DUUURRR.
The fitting was siliconed up on the fuel pump housing.
He found one of the persistant problems of the EDFC. It was dealing with the lead I used for power. It was comming off after the radio and causing a power drop that the radio and EDFC controler didnt like.
There was another issue that arrose. Media from the machine work worked its way into the turbos and effected boost. AS IN NONE!!!
So yeah Seth is realy taking care of all the little BULLSH!T problems. I cant thank Seth enough for all the work that his shop is doing. I've said this many times buts, it should be done in the next day or so.
Side note: Hey bboypuertoroc you at schofield right, you have a red Z?

^ Negative... I haven't owned a 350 (Le Mans) since March. I got a black Evo IX GSR (if you went to HIN, mine was in between Blaisdell Hall and the arena with the red MR and silver WRX wagon).
But I am at Schofield.
There's a red Z that either lives or works at the barracks across the street from my house... I think it's stock.

Seems like it will be soon and all the bugs wil get worked out. will have my own set of bugs here shortly as my motor arrives friday or after X-mas. I just need to see when Seth shipped my motor out cause Todd shipped mine before he got a deposit or the core
if it didnt get out yet I need to sent Todd some money asap

I should be picking up my car again today some time. Lots of issues were worked out, it should be rarring to go now. I'll let every one know how it feals after the ignition and EDFC issues were fixed; as well as all the others too.
Pun can you ask about my Engine. I been on vacation and have not been able to get ahold of seth to see if mine got shipped out and if the new one arrived. I also have the cooling mod at my house I need to figure out how to get it to him.

Yeah I saw your engine there or at least thats what it looked like since there was a brand new engine no valve covers and the old one side by side.
But yeah I picked up the car today. It had thrown a couple of codes realy quickly so I checked them out. Its the drivers side primary 02 sensor. It **** the bed. For some reason they dont like to be soaked in gas and left to sit for months. I you dont recall, just brows backa few and check out the issues I had with gas comming out of the tail pipe.
So right now its running, but has occasional issues because the 02 sensor. Once thats replaced it should clear up that problem. I can definately tell she is running better though than before.
The clutch is definatel y breaking in some but still needs more time to break in. That and Im definately still getting use to it. It seems to shift smother when I blip the throttle about 2K rpm when I shift at low speeds. Still the metal on metal chirping from a stop and low speed shift. But I can definately see it wants to clamp like a muthfuka.
The Tomei is not popping, and realy doesnt drag the inside unless Im going real slow and a sharp turn. I cant wait to see it go HARD!
The EDFC issues are worked out now too. For some reason it wasnt working when I turned it on but Seth proved me to be a little slow on the uptake. It turned right on when he messed with it.
So asside from the O2 issue every thing is wrapped up. So asside from the update on how the O2 makes the car run this may be it. Knock on wood! Today I put 70 miles for the breakin today and Im puting a few more on it tonight. Hopefuly I'll get the break in done with a quickness.

Nice to know your project is on it's close...but I'm sure you'll think up another means of freaking the Z out more.
You can clean the primary O2 with a propane torch. If you need new O2's let me know...I can get you OEM ones at dealer cost.

I still got a few plans like brakes, 3" exhaust, half shafts, oil/Ps coolers but they are all on a irregular basis. Just trying to get my power where I need it to be.
