Default My Motor build

Hello all, just wanted to share what I'm gonna be ordering by next week friday. It doesnt include head work like Punish_her but I'm only running a Single turbo so for now I will be a tad shy of 500WHP until I can get a GTK Turbo.

Pistons – Arias Extreme Duty 9:1 CR (estimated power rating above 1300-1500rwhp!)
Rods- Eagle
ARP hardware- Main studs
½” main studs, block machined, installed with use of timeserts
overhaul gaskets- every gasket new from Nissan
Headgaskets: HKS
rear main seal
main bearings
rod bearings
thrust washers
machine block (with use of torque plates)
balancing
polish crank
redeck heads and block- to ensure mating surfaces between the block and the heads are exact
clean parts- prep before assembly- clean oil channels, outer surface, etc.
oil pump- rev up- 18% improved efficiency over stock-new from Nissan- recommended on a new motor build
Cams- GTM turbo spec cams
Headwork- none
Valves- STOCK
Springs- JWT (with shims)
motor assembly – timed, with front and rear timing cover installed
head assembly- rebuilt with new valve stem seals

Let me be the first to congratulate you (kina of, never good thing to blow a motor) on the motor man. Now you dont have to worry as much on babying it. So did Todd at BuiltZ hook you up with a decent deal or what?

I would have been easly able to buy the Arias pistons and Puarter rod set up but that money went to the head work. I guess I was a cheap *** and didnt get both, but screw it if the weisco's let loos I can always sleeve the b!tch. Good choice on the the Arias ED with low silca aluminum. Great piston. Those are actualy supposed to give it a diffrent sound because there are tighter tolerances and there is no inital slap before warm up.

See also that you went with the 1/2" studs, timeserts, and HKS head gasket. Havent heard of any one blowing the gaskets on this setup; or head lift either. You can torque them down tighter and they have an over all greater clamping force with less stress on the heads or block.

Here's a fun fact: Its recomended you re-torque your head studs after the first 50-100 miles to get a truer torque. Due to the expansion coefficient of diffrent metals and what not. But yeah its gonna be a pian in the ***** to due but I plan on doing it too. If you got questions on it ask Todd, I may have fuct up the numbers but its fairly short distance.

And agian congrats, I know you will be as eager to get it in your car as I was (and still am ).

EDIT: I see on your list you gor the JWT Springs, so I guess your buying them from Todd. Just trying to get foresite if I need to let them go or not.

Yea for the JWT I'm just going with Todd's deal which is good. I have priced it all out the last few days and for what you get you can't beat it. Plus this ain't a easy motor it's kind of a beeatch from what people been saying so the extra money (shipping) is worth the insurance of knowing that someone who has put quite a few of these together is doing it. I got ahold of Seth and he said his shop will be clearing out soon so I will drop the car off with him after thanksgiving.

https://my350z.com/forum/wheels-and-tires/229610-11-5-wide-wheel-any-takers.html

I know its probably not cheaper than just widdening your current wheels, but I thought you might be interested. plus I'd love to see a 11.5" volk.

Hopefuly theengine is in when you go down there other wise there isnt much to look at . It will look definately like a beatup stock'er that hasnt been washed in 6 months.

I'll check out the pricing on the wheels, but more than likely I'm gonna say not. My money is earmarked right now for the necessaties on getting the car to 600whp safely. So yeah it means paying my curent tab at Sonic's, the clutch, the tune, and the half shafts (they have precidence over the wheels). Then the order of precidence for nicities are: radiator, fuel pressure guage, paint, breaks, laser jam system, wheels and tires, audio.

But I dont want to take away from Red's post here.

What did he give you on the engine price and did you get the rear cooling mod too? If you cant post in public IM me just wanna see how your deal was.

Yea right off the bat I ain't gonna be running any boost. I am wondering if the car will run on the reflash till I get the motor broken in. I can buy the UTEC and fuel upgrade but I'd rather wait till after Christmas cause with my trip I don't know how much I will be spending. Dropping to 9.0-1 and with the cams will be the test. The car is set up to run on 380cc Injectors with a 1100 Idle so well see. After the break in, Stage 2 should be out then I'll go back and tune for 600WHP like you. I hope to have the car up and running by December 15th.

BTW where are you doing the tune at? and is Seth doing that too?

Well this shipping fiasco is driving me nuts so I may end up having Sonic do this. It's pretty sad that just because shipping to a residence is so much more I may not do this project myself. On the plus side tho I should have a ton of information for the next person who decides to upgrade there block.
