Hey guys, it's been a while. I rarely ever poke around the 350Z sites too much. Although I might be soon because if anyone has any stock wheels lying around that they'd like to sell, I might be willing to purchase them...depending on the style, though.
can i play with you guys? '73 240z. most of the work was done by a coworkers friend about 15 years ago. paint/body was done at united auto body. built for autocross, but he moved to the mainland and ended up selling it to my coworker. after a couple years, my coworker wanted to concentrate on his vw bug, so he sold it to me about 6 months ago.
lots of things have been done, (a lot of which i still haven't found out about yet). main stuff:
L28 from a 280z (not sure what's done internally)
4 pt cage
recaros
ssr reverse mesh
stuff i plan to do/add:
cusco f&r strut tower bars
watanabe rs8's or ssr longchamps
jdm fender mirrors
powdercoat all suspension
MAYBE zg flares (don't really want to butcher my cherry fenders)
either triple webers (have em in my apt) or rb25 swap
not sure which which way i want to go with the motor. rb swap would be absolutely animal, but it would take away the nostalgic aspect of it. still on the fence about it. what do you guys think?
glad to find some local z guys.

SICK S30!!! Saw this in front of Sprint Pearl Kai a few weeks ago, right outside their door on the end parking stall. My dad used to own a 280Z...wish he kept it. One day I plan to find one and restore it for him...but then again, he's in love with his own Z32.

Coming soon (June '09)
Just wanted to introduce myself... i will be moving to hawaii via NAVY next year around the JUNE timeframe. Here are my stats:

Photo:
Questions:
1. This one is really for the military people... but how good was the shipping of your vehicle to Hawaii from the mainland? I don't want my Z to have a giant crack on the front bumper or anything crazy like that... especially when i'm about to lower my car =P
2. I see you all have some crazy mods... there shouldn't be a problem with mine while shipping/driving in hawaii, right? =)
Comments:
I cannot wait till i move to hawaii... i've been stationed overseas almost my entire time (Japan / Korea) and this would be a perfect way to end it. I come from the SoCal community of both San Diego & San Gabriel Valley and am now stationed in Seoul, Korea (where i don't have my Z ::sigh:: ). I can't wait to meet this community and see all the badass Zs running around. Other than that, see you all soon!

hey, andrew...you're gonna' love it here! hmmm...i shipped my blazer from cali to honolulu via matson...back then (may 07) it was $1095 and that doesn't include any kind of container. the salt water and rust off the ship stained the paint a little bit (white) and i think i remember a scratch or two. i wasn't too concerned back then because i hated that freakin' thing, but if i had to ship our z or murano, i'd probably try and spend the extra dough for a container. and of course with it being lowered, i sort of wonder what kind of drivers they have to put the cars here and there when they're in their posession. (although, i wonder also why my husband is allowing me to drive the z while he's gone!! am i right, guys?) also, when you get your car here, you have thirty days to get a safety inspection and registration in hawai'i...just have to watch the recon laws...but the guys can fill you in on that part...that stuff's all greek to me!! seriously though...hawai'i is fantastic...good luck with your planning!!

heres my advice. Get everything you want while ur in Cali and save on shipping. I've spent roughly the cost of a Vortech kit just on shipping parts for my car over from japan and the mainland.

shoots thanks for the welcome
I ended up getting the Platinum Graphite w/sport pkg from windward. I originaly wanted a black one however, no dealership had one in stock that wasn't either automatic or touring/sport. The last one just didn't fit in my budget.
