that's a normal price. Nothing outrageous at all. a full kit HID for 293? maybe some china made ones.

if you end going with an aftermarket, make sure you get one that has a warranty. I remember for my celica i bought one from techone and they sent me 3 ballasts that all didn't work. Then I sold my celica and a few weeks later I saw it with the same ballast blown out again

if you go over to the newcelica forums contact Dooly. I think his kits actually use some decent ballasts and bulbs for a cheap price with lifetime warranty

Ouch, hella expensive.

HIDplanet has Phillips D2S bulbs for $78 a pair. I'm sure they're just as good or better.

EDIT: Forgot, its probably D2R, ebay is probably your best bet.

I upgraded my HID bulbss to 6000k and I think I still have my stock ones in the garage. I'll look when I get back in town and let you know if you're interested.

How do you like your 6000k bulbs compared to OEM? What brand?

I forgot what brand they were. I bought them off of a vendor on this site and I think it may be that dooly guy, but I'll have to double check my PP account info.
As far as the 6k bulbs, I loved them. They looked badass at night.

Yea the prices are ridiculous. I called nissan to get a quote on the HID bulb and the ballast, the total came out to be almost $800. It's stupid. You can buy 2 06 bi xenon headlights for $1100.

Just get a cheaper set. The more expensive ones don't honestly last much longer. My moms 01 lexus blew out a bulb on one side and it was nearly $300 each as well. This was back in 05 so the stock bulbs clearly don't last forever that was 4 years pretty much. I stuck in aftermarket bulbs and its been fine for the past 2 years. 80 for the pair. Do the math 80 a pair vs 600 a pair. Even if I change it once a year its still better to get aftermarket. But of course thats not the case. The stock ones might last longer but not enough to justify the price. When it really comes down to it its just light bulbs. Its not like the car is gonna spin out of control when it breaks its not a critical item that requires you to buy the best. Just buy the most cost effective ones.
