If you go the built engine route go with 9.5:1 pistons you will get WAY better power than the 8.6's like I have.

If you buy from the same guy you could get just about every thing you need for about 22K, including fuel system. With about 3K for install, tune, and misc expences you should be able to get it at about 25K.

That being said you need other things like exhaust, clutch, flywheel, half shafts, and several other supporting mods to hold the power reliably. Then you get into chassis tuning and suspention to round out the complete car. Your looking at about 32K-35K for a complete package for every thing to work together with little to no weak links.

As of right now not realy, I wanna see what I can get on pump gas. The 8.6 leaves ALOT of room for timing if water/meth is used but thats WAY down the road. Im wrapping every thing up getting the car where it needs to be at this stage in the game.

This has been going on since 2005 and Im eager to get this wrapped up.

yeah thats pretty much why i went with the 8.6. i had water/meth in my plans since the begining. i still got a long long way to go. once motor is done gonna have to wait till summer to see what she is really capable of. then im gonna get started on the suspension. stage 1 of my build is almost complete

Land. Screw a car. Put money into appreciating assets, not depreciating assets.

The labor costs are what kills your budget on these builds I think. For my stock block build I went up over 17k, but I had other stuff installed at same time like springs, sways, guages, etc. Make sure you take all of this in to account before you start throwing money out. Was it worth it? Every penny. Will be back to Forged in a year or so for built block goodies.
