Default audio troubleshoot help

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

hi fellow z owners. i just recently encountered a problem with my sounds. i have focal mids and highs and 2 JL W6v2. got them installed from a shop almost a year ago. everything worked fine since i got them. my normal volume i play it on is 20 at the loudest. just today for some reason when i get to about 18 on the volume everything shuts off. sometimes just the bass comes through then stops, and then only the mids and highs, and stops then the amps turn off. if i leave the volume on around 10-12 it plays fine. can anyone explain this to me. thanks.

Hey Joe:

I would say take it back to the d@mn shop (which is???), especially if it's brand new stuff. I'm REALLY no expert, but:

1- Check your wiring. Is it loose, maybe a short?
2- Check your fuses. Maybe your dang bass shook them loose.
3- Maybe the amps have a automatic shutoff when your exceed your power level.
4- Someone has the same remote control and is playing tricks on you

sounds like your amps are clipping
problem could be door speaker might be grounding out some where or the crossover is shot
voicecoil could be going bad and dropping the ohms too low (ohms change during movement)
try playing with the fader/balance see if all the speakers are playing if you got one out then that's the problem you have a broken speaker causing the amp to clip
another problem you could have a bad fuse up front.....if its a glass agu type the fuse may look ok but the contacts on the side could be bad on the inside......
