Cool doing my interior again in this stuff very soon...you'll see the work.
I'll charge off the difficulty of the part...
A guy onthis site charges $650 just to do the steering wheel so it stands to be a profitable trade...
I however will do it for fractions after I master it!

Finally back on the island! Pretty rough start losing my camera, steering wheel, and broken window but stuff like that won't hold me down...
So we planning another GTG anytime soon? I want to meet and see all the new Z/G owners out in the crowd. Plus I gotta get more footage for my website ^_^
Cheers!

I've been home for a little over a week now. Miss HI already. Kinda makes me wanna move there lol. So are most of you guys transplanted or some of you born/raised HI? I just want someone's opinion on relocating...maybe it's a normal tourist reaction to wanna be there all the time lol.

Actually I hate Hawaii due to the roads and no autocross...
But on the way home I just love the scenery on the highway and how the roads change so suddenly
This place is very very beautiful once the roads get better I would definitely live here

I enjoyed driving to the North Shore and finally seeing all the spots. Being a surfing enthusiast since '97 it amazes me I haven't tried to visit a lot earlier. Been to CA a few times. It just seemed so far out of reach for me. Visiting was like a religious experience. So in that reguards perhaps I'm pretty biased.
Favorite drives for me were Tantalus/Round top in Oahu, doing the whole road to Hana and driving to the summit of Haleakala for sunrise in Maui. On a few occassions people thought I was local. For the first time in my life I felt truly comfortable and it was weird looking like everybody else and not the minority lol.
im transplanted but definately love the winter weather vs ohio. hate no racetracks though, ohio within 30 minutes drive i had summit motorsports, lorain county speedway, dragway 42, 2 hours out i could expand those to mid town ohio and a colledge in lima i cant remember atm but they had autocross, drifting, circle track, and drags all there circle track was both tarmac and dirt. think there are like 20 more tracks for various events if i expand it to 4 hour drive.

glad to see you enjoyed yourself here in hawaii VQdriver. jus by reading your post I can say you've done a couple things that people that live in Hawaii haven't done.
the having no track thing sucks too.....right about after I got out of highschool and they got rid of it. I am glad I got to experience the tracks though while they were open but with my Acura.......by the time I got my g it was to late
hope this won't be the last time u visit Hawaii......I have a cousin that lives in new jersey and he drives a red turbo genesis.......I believe newark?

I was Born in hawaii and have tons of family here but grew up on the main land. There are plenty of reasons to live in hawaii and plenty not too. I do love it here I am a warm weather person and the weather dosent change much year round. but the Cost of living is way to high and most jobs out here dont pay that much. I know plenty of people that are working 2 and 3 jobs to make ends meet. I donno not really how i want to live. Its really hard to live on your own out here. being in the military makes it easy to live here. Will I miss hawaii when i move? absolutly. its a great place to live if you can afford to. but I will defeantaly be visiting a lot more often then i had before I moved here.

I can see how rich the Hawaiian heritage is from observation, and the beauty they have at their doorstep, but I understand that there's so many things that I take for granted here that you guys long for more easy access. Being able to drive around an island in a few hours might be harder for some than others too. Yes things appear to be very expensive from the tourist point of view. Probably for the local as well. I figure the place is so beautiful I could let go of a lot of luxuries to be in it full time and to watch my surfing grow to it's full potential. Maybe I wouldn't get used to it and struggle as well...Looks like everything there is based off of business from tourism. Every car is a rental car. I have a tough enough time seeing PA/NY license plates/traffic at my home beach breaks...
For the locals, what was it like growing up? Couldn't wait to hit the mainland or stay at home sweet home?
