Aloha! Hello. My name is Rudy and I'm from NJ. I drive a stock looking Black Obsidian G35 coupe 6 speed now wearing base Z33 wheels with Blizzak LM-22 snow tires. I will be visiting late March. Anyone wanna take me surfing? I'm trying to work up the nerve for the N. Shore. No seriously. I may paddle out today in my 5/4/3mm wetsuit. Gonna be air 20s, water 40s and chest high today. Hopefully it will be fun!

Thanks bruddah. I definetely will check out Waikiki as it's such a tourist thing to do. In fact I'm not sure where we're staying exactly at this point, just that the plane tickets are booked lol. I originally wanted to stay on the N. Shore at Turtlebay resort because of it's location away from the craziness and it's numerous available activities, but the wife says it's gotten some bad reviews which I agree is a bummer. I want something really nice for us. So, I'm open to suggestions anywhere on the island at this point so I can further pinpoint my search on a place to stay.

As far as surfing lessons go, I will respectfully say that I'm OK not to take lessons. I've been at it since age 18 (now 31). I'm not saying I'm a Kelly Slater or Sunny Garcia. Actually I'm past my performance limit once the surf reaches head high. I was just hoping by some slim chance one of you guys was an accomplished surfer and can show me the spot to be at when the swells are less than overhead and not get pinpointed as an outsider. Maybe we can have an awesome wave session.

You should check out the hale koa, Hilton or Hawaiian prince hotel. Those ate some nice scenic views and the beach is right out there and ala moana mall is close buy and also you could walk the strip. Plus you could taken drive to hanauma bay beach, right next to it is a scenic point view where they have a blow hole and sandy beach is right around the corner. I've been here all my life and never attempted to surf! Only body board. Hahaha I'm not into surfing. But there's a lot of cool surfers out there that would he willing to surf with you and help you out if anything

Another good hotel is the Outrigger Reef. I personally thought it was much nicer than the Hilton village. Also not sure if your military or not but the hale koa is for military only.
