Safety Inspection
I just moved to Oahu from CA and brought my Z with me. The "safety" inspection is turning out to be a huge pain in my a**. They won't pass me because I have springs that lower my car by 0.6". Do I really have to jump through all the hoops that the office of reconstructed vehicles is trying to make me do? Who do I need to take it to? Obviously I'm not the only person with a slightly modified car on the island.
3 choices:
1- get recon legit
2- go back stock then change back after
3- know someone who will pass it but be willing to pay a lot more.
but keep in mind if your car is decently modded and you dont have recon and happen to get pulled over pretty much guarantee tickets.

i wouldnt worry about getting cited for tasteful mods so long its not obviously illegal like blue lights, slammed, huge wing. ive noticed cops here are getting more lenient so long its tastefully modded and not obnoxiously modded
Pretty ridiculous that now that I don't have to worry about CA emissions restrictions I could twin turbo my car to 600hp, but if I stiffen up and lower my car by 0.5" to improve handling, stopping distance, etc... then its "unsafe"? I can't believe this.
