^^ Girlfriend picked it out and she read up on the reviews on dpreview.com. I think she picked up a good camera based on the reviews and picture samples we seen. We also took a trip down to the local cam shop to see it first hand.

I own a Nikon D70, but after reading Sandermans post about the Fuji F10, I almost wanted to go out and buy one as a backup "point and shoot" camera. And since it was almost tailor made for what you were looking for, I'm just wondering why you didn't go in that direction.
It's the way it usually goes. I'm in to high-end audio too, and as I've found there it's basically pointless to try and overcome the high noise level of the internet by offering informed advice. Most people are still going to buy junk no matter how good the advice you offer is (or how uniformed the alternative feedback is) no matter what. I usually don't even bother anymore.
How do you like your D70? I've got a D70s and am trying to decide whether or not to make the leap to the new D200....

Compare this: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canons2is/page5.asp
To this: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/fuji...zoom/page5.asp
The Canon is seriously noisey at ISO 100 and above that it's useless. That's what tells you how well a camera works in low light conditions. If you can't tell the differcence or don't know what it means that's your problem. The Fuji has less noise at ISO 800 than the Canon does at ISO 200 for god's sake.
Look at the Fuji at ISO 400 here: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/fuji...zoom/page7.asp
Compared to the Canon here: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canons2is/page9.asp
There is NO comparison. The Fuji is unique among point and shoots in this regard.
Why'd I bother? I'm beginning to wonder. You said you wanted a camera that had good low light performance. You bought the inferior of the two for that purpose. It's not just about the reviewers overall conclusions, it's about what you intend to use the camera for....
