Default Nice slim durable digital camera

I'm looking for a nice slim digital camera. Preferably one that is titatium like look.

I'm looking at getting one that can take some video as well as good stills, and a decent amoutn of speed shots.

I need it to be durable since I'll be getting it once I find out whether or not I'm going to go back in and try and deploy.

It can't have a slider that covers the lense. My last one I had in iraq had a slider and it broke at the last minute and made it useless.

So any suggestions would be appreciated

I don't know if this is what you'd want (or not) but my powershot s80 has been good for hiking trips, and it has a wide angle which most small cams don't.

Ahh thanks.

I kept searching for digital camera but couldn't figure out how to find some ultra-slim ones.

Is a certain brand better from your experiences?

yes , took 2 years of sending it back and forth for the battery charger in the camera to get fixed....failed while deployed, wedding day/ honeymoon in london and paris, than for the aniversery in hawaii/tokyo/singapore now I take 2 cameras on trips, we took 3 (my wife likes film) on the germany trip last week. You never know your camera charger is bad till you go to use it for a few days.

Probably too large if you're considering Exelims (sp?).

canon digital elph's are great. i got my sd500 right when it came out and i love it. the more recent models are much thinner, too, but i've noticed the controls aren't as comfortably/strategically placed.

You don't really need more than 3MP...unless you're going to print up some posters. Quality > MP
