Do you use ND filters? The first shot is nice, but probably could get a more dramatic effect with a slightly longer shutter speed (1/8) for more wave motion and moving clouds

Actually, that is going to be my next purchase. But a good 5 or 10 stop ND filter in 77mm is not cheap.

I tried 1/4 and 1/2 sec, but as you already know, they were overexposed.

I've just begun trying to take pics of something other than the car. I know I'll need the practice and get better before going on my next vacation overseas.

All the images shot with the Canon 60mm Macro. Rushed home after work to try the lens that just came in this afternoon. All shots were handheld in low dusk light, and ISO 800 (noisy)... yes, I should have used a tripod, but I just wanted to try this puppy... so the images are not indicative of its abilities... yet... This lens could be addicting.

f/2.8 1/30 ISO 400 handheld. Too little light to shrink the aperture and get more DOF.

f/2.8 1/30 ISO 800 handheld. Again, too little light for a better aperture setting to get better DOF

f/2.8 1/40 ISO 800 handheld.

f/2.8 1/13 ISO 800 handheld!!!

f/8.0 5.0 ISO 200 tripod. DOF is still thin from about 7" away from the front element... even at f/8.0 Yes, that is a steel penny (1943 was a year copper was in short supply because of the war.) 1890 Morgan Silver Dollar (made of 90% silver) and a 1867 Upper Canada half penny.
