btw - i am not bashing the OP in any way, i am just tired of hearing about HDR HDR HDR.........whatever happened to a good picture out of the camera that needs NO post processing other than a resize?

I don't think you can take a bad picture and with HDR turn it into something good. there still needs to be good composition and lighting. if you take that attitude then different lenses are cheating as well since a wide-angle will substantially change the look of a picture, ditto on fish-eye or whatever the other ones are... polarizing lenses... that is what I meant; it seems people give HDR more credit than they should.

this isn't like playboy where you airbrush all the zits and stretch marks out. all it does is mess with the exposures. if you take a boring picture, you will have a boring HDR picture as well

that halo effect looked deliberate (to dull out the surround to make the jeep the focus) but that is just my opinion. and there you go bashing someone else's artistic expression j/k

Pretty cool. To me its alllllmost crossing over the line into looking like it belongs on an ultra bright airbrushed t-shirt...but not quite.

Perhaps this is the post-apocalyptic 370z weve been waiting for?

Yeah, I've been thinking about trimming back the saturation on the red channel by just a few points, but I haven't had the time to yet. On some monitors it looks different than others. I'll have to mess with it again when I finally get some free time from work...

Thanks, much appreciated.

Here's another example of a less 'extreme' HDR. I took the smoothing down to 4 for the awesome "halo" effect too.

And yes, I know my Z looks like the nuts of a phallus.

F*ck what all the haters say Taurran! I think your photos came out awsome! As soon as I re-coupe some of my funds (I just bought a new King Size bed set, and a Mustang). I plan on getting my feet wet in the photography game, and HDR!!
