I'd be too scared to attach my camera on that rig....nice pics though
The car is only moving at about 5 mph. I'm walking along side and can easily grab the camera if a suction cup were to let go. I also have the camera strap looped over the rig as a safety strap.
These suction cups are pretty strong. I had one let go the first time I used it and the second one held just fine. As long as you mount them on a smooth, clean surface they work great.
Do you have the engine running while you take the pics? When I rented a rig, I was told not to have the engine running because the vibrations. Pushing the car is better while you have some else "drive" the car.

The engine was off during these pics. I'd have my buddy, behind the wheel, get the car moving then shut the engine off, I'd let the vibrations settle down then trip the shutter via a remote control.
