Default Interesting Shot of a Rifle

I was taking some pictures of my guns the other day and really liked the way this one turned out. What do you guys think?

I've posted there before. This picture is more about the photographical aspect of things and less about it being a gun. I wanted to draw attention not to the actual object in the picture, but the composition of the image.

In all honesty you need to grow up. "Minimal Skills" you refer to. Do tell what his gear was to achieve this shot. Sounds you need to point your observation else where. To say that this shot was for composition, it should be in this forum. Take your single minded opinion else where.

i like the shot, but my bit of advice is choose a different surface. something other than carpet that was maybe a solid color. like laying it on a white sheet to really bring out the detail? to me the different colors in the carpet are a little distracting.

i hope thats what kind of input you were looking for

To add to J_Dizzle, get a piece of tile board form Home Depot. Comes in a 4'x8' sheet and place your subject on it. It gives a nice white semi-reflective surface.

Thanks for the advice J_Dizzle and stu. I agree that a different foreground would make for a cleaner looking shot. I'll have to give it a try next time.
