It is incredible to me, that in our small town here in Hawaii, Waipahu- having a false reputation as being one of the tougher neighborhoods in Hawaii, has and is hosting Major League, as well as Japanese and Korean prospects.
I attended my first game a few weeks ago, and thought it would be a great opportunity to practice the "action shot" as well as the "frozen baseball."
Hans L'Orange Field... I used to read pornos here in the bleachers with some friends when I was still in Intermediate school (Middle School for you haoles) after buying them from the old man at the 'mom and pops' store close by.

You can see the smoke stack of the former Sugar Mill that burned the cane that produced sugar for the world... a sign of the humble beginnings Waipahu is built upon.

The ball is stuck on his chest... one of my faves.

Nice set. Haven't watched baseball since a kid.
I'd recommend that you post a few pictures and have a link to the set in flickr. Took way too long to load, so I just stopped and didn't see all of the pics.

Also, how are you saving the pictures? The first picture is 700KB. I did a save as in PS and lowered the quality to 10 oppose to 12. That lowered the size to 455KB without any noticeable loss in IQ.

That amount of compression is negligible in todays world of faster speeds. Uploading to Flickr does it's own compression... you do not view the exact file that's on your hard drive when viewing Flickr files.
I put all the pics and let them load, because I find clicking on them individually takes even longer than waiting for them all to load... the files are not that big. And if Flickr is slow to load the images, it'll be the same viewing them click by click.
I've been using image editors and the like since 1996, and have experimented with "best compression" when I made my first page:
Click, Sega Game-A-Holic... you'll get a kick out of it... check the dates and the image sizes
The code was actually written on a Sega Saturn, the first console with internet capabilities. Images were done with Corel Photo-Paint, still, a real alternative to Photo Shop... just as powerful.
http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Alley/8071/
I learned all about compression and load times... hell, everyone was on dial-up.
But seriously, the niggles you have are so minor... don't you think?
BTW, loved that last set you put up of your daughter and half bro. Excellent stuff.

Not sure what it is, but this thread and your last thread take a long time to load. I can view any thread with pictures on here, POTN, FM, etc., without any problems with load times.
Thanks. What lens were you using? 250mm is a far ways.
If possible, I'd like to tag along if you do any car shoots. Maybe at one of the local meets. I'd practice on a Z, but sold mine and only got a truck.

I use el cheapo 55-250mm IS. It's a sharp lens. People make too much of having expensive lenses... but no doubt having bigger apertures of the "L" teles would be welcome.
I really want to get a lens for my Olympus though, to give me even more reach. Maybe their Zuiko 70-300mm.
I don't really do car shoots. I really only shoot my car cause it's my practice subject. I don't have kids or cats

Yeah, why don't you come out to one of their meets. I'm sure they would appreciate someone with talent. Wanna go to the next one?
Can't wait to see the car Jamie... seriously, Project Mu's... 'nuff said.

Zuiko got some nice stuff. I'll pop in the regional forum and check it out. I'm hardly there. If time permits and get the OK from the wife, I'll try to make the meet. Can't do a cruise though. Driving around the island in a V8 ftl
