Default Canon 30D - 18-55mm lense crack. :(

My 18-55mm lense that came with the camera somehow got a tiny tiny little crack on the inner glass of my lense. Ugg!

Anyways, I need recommendations on a affordable, but flexible lense that has IS too. I was thinking the 28-130~mm IS USM lense. I see them pretty reasonable on EBAY.
Also thinking about the Sigma 18-200mm OS lense. Give me some ideas, costs, and what you think. Thanks!

I have the Sigma 18-200mm f/2.8 macro one and it's an awesome lens. Great and fast focusing, and takes sharp picture. And the price cannot be beat.

tamron 17-50 f/2.8 is a really good choice.

For me, having a faster and constant aperture is more important than IS.

I have lots of friends using this lens on their 30d, 40d, and d80's, it will probably be my next lens.

I currently use the 17-85 IS lens on my 30d, which kinda sucks in comparison because it's too slow.

I'll be selling my Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 if interested. If not, the same kit lens with IS and the 55-250 IS is a good combo.

actually i like that lens a lot. great for some wide angle shot and have a nice zoom range.

i don't really like the 18-200, it is really not that sharp.

seems like you are just starting off, a good combo to go with is get the EF-S 17-85mm and the 50mm f/1.8.

Update: I actually found out from Circuit City that I still had one month on my accidental insurance I bought on it 2 years ago! So they are replacing the lens. I also purchased a few goodies. I got the new Sigma 18-200mm OS DC lens, and the 580EX II Flash with a Carbon Fiber tripod. New toys.
