I'll take a look at Home Depot, Lowes, and City Mill for some fence pipes and couplers. Looking to get three 4' pipes so I can break it down and be portable.

Thanks for the details on the rig, TYC, really appreciated!

As you said, most people are very tight-lipped when it comes to sharing this info.

Now to find all the components I am missing (I already have a few things!)

Thank you so much for posting this. I always thought rigs were out of my price range but this is pretty doable...also lol @ angelina jolie/jailbait.

Edit: 2 questions...
1) Do you need the studs with the super clamps or no? I am not sure what they are for...
2) Magic Arms seem to come in a variety of flavors with center lock arm @ 80 all the way up to quick release head @ 140...any particular model you recommend?

1. The studs....when I ordered it, unlike you...I didnt know if I would need it or not and just decided to go with it since it was only like $3 difference. But no, you dont need it.

2. Magic Arm, the some dont need it to be that beefy($130+) some are content with the smaller ones($50+). The choice is yours. If you want my suggestion, I would say get the beefy ones. That way you leave no room for regrets.....like me.

this is great. I can use this concept for my wedding shot (bride and groom in convertable car). Total cost for this set up around $400. Not bad at all.

btw, where did you buy your pipe?

Where are you buying the Avenger 1000's from? I was also curious if they don't damage the paint.
