Default DSLR Questions

Im in the market for a DSLR. Im really only buying one for car meets and things of that nature. I guess you could consider me a noob at the whole photography scene. I been doing some research and have been looking at Nikon D3000 and D5000. Some people have said the D5000 is an overpriced D40 but i couldnt tell the difference. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

Both are good entry level cameras, I would opt for the D5000 if you can do it - you get a few extra things over the D3000. . .which I think is the base model- the kit lenses are pretty good also. . .

Good luck

Go find a camera store and pick one up and see how it feels in you hand. . . there is a lot to be said for how it feels when you hold it. I did not like the canons at all, to me the Nikon just had a better feel. . . So I went Nikon (long ago)

But basic Canon or Nikon they are all pretty much equal. . . you should be able to do either in your price range. . . and probably walk a way with a 2 lens system
