for you top gear fans who saw the review of the 458 italia recently, all i have to say is "clarkson is off his rocker". this car is gorgeous. pictures really don't do it justice. regardless, here's the album:
this particular 2001 model belonged to R&B recording artist Pharrell originally (see "Frontin' " video, about 1 minute in) and has less than 4k miles on it. the car is for sale for those who have the means
#7 is your best shot in this series. #8 is close, but i'd push the exposure a tad.
I think they are both a hair underexposed, metered for the ambient light in the background. There are many fixes to this including a ton of photoshopping, compositing, use of a ND Grad filter, or use of flash strobes. Personally, I'm partial to the compositing of images because it can be made to look perfectly natural. Looking at the quality of the others shots I would assume you know these tricks, any reason you didn't use them (just preference)?

i should have used my graduated ND filter but i was in such a hurry to take some snaps before the sun went down all the way so i didn't have time. my camera bag was all the way across the tarmac at the time so it would have taken 10 or 15 mins to walk back to it and get back to the car. i shot them a tad underexposed on purpose to give it a cool feeling and to keep the sky from blowing out. i did take one two clicks up on exposure and the sky was pure white. it was almost completely blown out in 7/8 in the ones i posted but i did some selective burning to bring it back a little and get some color back in it. compositing the interior shots with various lighting differences sounds like to me. i shoot these in a way so that i don't have much post work to do. i'm not saying they could be improved, i just prefer the "pretty much straight out of the camera" look. that's just me tho
