Sorry to hear about your misshap Duckeee,
your Z was full of awesomeness.
i was thinking the same. had i bought a huge 1700mm salad bar i would've flew to safety. oh, the regrets. thank you sir! I'm full of bones and meat still.

she was alright! i needed more time to apply make up for her. she was no where near complete

if it's not totaled ill keep her for sure. otherwise, a new platform will have to be part of my life. i'll stay around per your request

Don't try and save her unless you have a trusted shop that isn't gonna screw you over. That process is hairy.

in reality if it is totaled i'd like to remove all the goodies. but, would I need to buy it back to part it out?

bleh. sucks. but gotta keep smiling away :] another obstacle in life i have to hop over.
I'm thinking No, you would not need to buy it back, because the insurance company isn't valuating the car based on aftermarket goodies (as far as I know), i.e. if you have your favorite set of fuzzy dice hanging from the rear view mirror, you can go get them before they send your car to the junk yard.

As far as the more major components go, I think you can part it out to a certain extent, i.e. you can take your Works off if you put some other wheels in their place, you can take your Brembo's off if you install some other brakes in their place, etc. I don't know how or where you go about doing that, but I've heard of it being done. Those rules might vary by state also...you will need to check.

Well guys, I have been MIA on here. car is indeed totaled. they gave me $21k for it (more than what I paid for it last year), which is nice! but, a lot of work and time did go into it. This Saturday was the first time I saw her again since the accident, and may be my last. Took the wheels back, my belongings, and whatever else that was salvageable. i must admit i've never had emotions for a car but starting her up again and sitting inside made me pretty sad....

here she sits now.

damages do not look horrible but the rear coilover was bent pretty neatly. underside is ripped up nicely and plastic pieces are missing everywhere lol.

it's an honor..

as for parts guys I really have had limited time and so many obstacles to deal with to part it out with the insurance company. the main thing were the wheels that I wanted back which I have in my possession now. I'm keeping them for my next car.

one of the last pics i took of her

not planning to buy her back. its time to move on. or backwards in life maybe.
