engine shadow/ghost on hood

Default engine shadow/ghost on hood

this is my first attempt to do this, how do you guys not have the hood prop in the way? do you hold the hood up and have the timer set on your camera? I just did this is my driveway any tips would be great

Remove hood maybe?

I had a friend just hold the hood up, so the hood prop stayed in the holder. Here is the image. The car was done with a 4x5 film camera and the engine was digital. Hence the front standard focus tilt.

Just use the clone tool feature in PS. It'll clean that right up
