I have a few ideas that I'm throwing around for the coupe that I just picked up:

First, I'd like to see what the car would look like if I used vinyl to carry the black from the window area back to a point near the point of the tail lights. I'd also like to see what the side view mirrors would look like if I used black vinyl on them.
Second, I'd like some ideas of how to incorporate that same shape (curved at the front sloping down to a point in the rear) into accents for each of the wheel wells.

Ok, here is the other thing that I'm considering. It's a three tone color scheme.
Black + Dark Grey + Chrome Silver
1) I want to carry the black of the front windshield across the hood to the back glass.
2) I want to carry the black of the side windows to a point
3) I want to have the hatch, hood, side view mirrors and a pillars in dark grey
4) I will leave the rest of the car in chrome silver
NOTE: Chrome silver aftermarket front bumper, sideskirts, and rear bumper are in the future as well.
Okay, I have no photochop skillz, but this should give you an idea of what I'm talking about:

I'll be running the nitrous setup for the summer, but hope to do an LS swap next winter. I'm starting to read up and put together the gameplan for the heart transplant & I've been talking with Bobby & Ben at CIN Motorsports for the help that I'll need to make it a reality.

Thanks, that looks good. I'm not sure what I would do with the wheel wells either. I'm just brainstorming at this point.
Well, I tried something for the wheel wells and i DO NOT LIKE, so forget I even mentioned it:

Well if you must do the 2 tone thing... do the whole top section while stopping at the front bumper and rear hatch. Did the Akebono's survive? I'm really glad to see your back in a Z.

I'm trying to figure out how to make the new Z "mine". So I'm really just brainstorming at this point. As "noticable" as the design was on the roadster, I don't know that I can stick with the OEM sleeper look. And I don't want to do something that I'll see on 40 other Z's either. So who knows what an idiot like me will end up doing to his car by the time ZDayz rolls around in May.

I was actually thinking about a Bugs and Lola Bunny theme. They're a pretty good fit for my wife and me as far as cartoons go, and I figured that my daughter might get a kick out of it. But I found out that gangs are using cartoon characters on their cars now, so that's really not an option:

Okay, I'm trying some other ideas now. I've been looking around and found a few sample cars. I also just bought a new CF hood that is going to be a part of the equation. This is the TS style hood that I bought (not my car - just an example of the hood on a chrome silver Z):

I like how the roof, side view mirror and hatch flows on this Z, but I don't like the whole hood & a-pillars black with the top of the fender (past the bend/fold line) still silver. For my eye, it doesn't flow as well at the a-pillar:

I really like what dikspiel did with this hood because it is also inspiring me with ideas. I also like what he did with the Asuka double hump roof (black continues the lines of the windshield and rear windows):

I sort of like what this guy did, and I'm starting to look for more pics of his car because it is inspiring me with ideas:

So I'm considering either:
A) black roof, mirrors, a-pillars, and hatch with black running down the line of the front fender to blend the lines of the hood area with the rest (possibly leave the hood all CF or paint black and just leave vents CF)
B) Copy diskspiel's design from above for hood and top, but with my ts style hood
C) A combination of painting the hood and leaving a large portion of the CF visible
Any ideas/suggestions or photoshop examples are appreciated. At this point, I'm leaning more towards option B. However, I want to end up with a design that I'm excited about before I send it into the paint booth.

I like the way Daniel did his the best.
The other ideas just aren't as appealing on silver.
A. Meh
B. Good
C. Done by people who have hazing in the gel coat and want to cover it up while leaving the rest of the hood exposed.

better put some boost under that TS hood.
I like what dikspeil did the best.
Look at 1gr8350z's car and there was a chick out west, Cat something that did some cool stuff on her roadster with CF/paint.

NANO Nitrous on the VQ for the summer, then NANO Nitrous on LS come winter. I've been comparing the cost of twins to the cost of the LS, and I've decided that a heart transplant is the better choice for me.
I like the way that 1gr8350z's car looks/looked as well. The more that I look at them, I'm thinking that I'll do the hood like Dikspiel's, but I may leave the vents and the DE accent lines in CF and paint the rest of the hood to match the silver. I'd like to do the roof, pillars, hatch and mirrors in gloss black. I like the way that the roof and hatch looks on Da1grl & 1gr8350z painted gloss black.

Okay, I've been playing with GIMP for a while, and I am starting to get a feel for what I may do.

First pick:

Congrats on the new ride, and walking away from that whole deal in the first place.
Personally, I like the picture above the best, of the three... Looks good, and unique.
How much does an LS swap run? That would be a mean Z-monster.
