Maybe I mis-read it, but I'm assuming that was installed?

Sam’s prices do not include installation.

My guess is around $1,000 for removal and another $2,00 for installation. This is a guess of course and depends on how long it takes, but say 8 hours to drop the engine and remove all the accessories & 13 – 16 to put it all back in correctly..? If you are only buying the short block, you need to put in 5 - 8 hours for assembly of the long block too by my estimate.

The prices do not include the block you need to send that to GTM as well. Otherwise I would guess a $2,000 – 2,500 core charge as well.

Sam/ Sharif please feel free to correct me if I am too far off base on these numbers.

Usually you only need to preform this TSB if your VTC sprockets are having the symptons listed above ( making noise during cold start ). If you are not having these symptons then I wouldn't worry about it.

WOW, now this is what i'm talking about, affordable, safe short block....the part that is going to pinch is installation and taking the core out....i wish i was in cali.

i wonder what would be more cost effective......get a core charge or actually have your core uninstalled and shipped to cali (from florida).....??

Why not go to Japtrix, less than a hour away from you and have them do the GT Motorsports block install. Just have Japtrix ship GTM your core block after you get the new motor from them and you'll then get a core refund for $1-2K. Shipping the core will be less than $200. I'm sure a shop like Japtrix will help with logistics to get your business.

oh, i'm definitely going through them, they installed my aps st....ok so ur saying to just pay the core fee and have that refunded back to me once GTM builds the engine....that sounds like a plan.

Yes, that's an option, just check with Japtrix to confirm.
