They should've designed cold air intakes. Oh well.

Nice. Still waiting for the prices to come down a little more. GTM seems like the best bet right now. APS still has one in the works as well.

You mean because the GTM kit is better designed for big power?

The JWT system utilizes better turbo's than the Garrett ones GTM has, and the JWT kit will be by far superior to the GTM kit. The kit from JWT is a complete, worry free kit, that comes with the JWT reputation behind it.

They have been working on the kit for the HR for the past couple of months. The last I heard is that they are in the final moch up stage. We should see official news in a month or so about the kit.

edit: the link on the other page said the release is early summer, so save your pennies guys.

this thread shouldn’t turn into a JWT vs GTM bash fest... that would be truly adolescent.

If there can’t be more than one good kit, that would be a true shame... I'm all for promoting good shops and good manufacturing... but unwarranted jabs at a product that isn’t even released yet doesn’t do a thing for the product you are trying to promote - its in poor taste imo.

For the unwary, Lawy'dU is like our my350z.com village idiot (or VI for short). Can we change his "registered user" designation above his avatar?

Of course, those unfamiliar with the kits, might actually believe what our VI has to say. The fact is that both kits in their current form use Garrett ball bearing turbos. If JWT is moving to a different manufacturer, I'd like to know why considering they have supplied turbos by Garrett for years, a manufacturer that is highly regarded.

Flexibility of turbo selection: GTM.
Piping size: GTM.
Intercooler size and efficiency: GTM.
Pipe routing for efficiency (e.g. cold air intakes, external wastegates, etc): GTM.

Of course, when JWT's kit is actually released, we can then determine whether they've stepped up their game or if this is just another rehash of their current kit. I'm not saying the JWT kit is bad, it's just dated at this point. I'm only speaking to the tuner kit (no EMS, no RFS - don't even go there!).

EDIT: ...and OCG35, this isn't about bashing a kit. If Jim Wolf hears about this kind of feedback, maybe he'll do something about it! It'd be great if everyone stepped up their game - it'd mean better options for the customers!

The only 2 things I like about this kit over the GTM is...

1. The JWT kit keeps the front bumper, and even though the JWT kits intercooler my not be as good in design as the GTM, I just prefer the placement, and the front bumper.

2. The strut bar. I also know GTM is working on a solution for this too.

I'll probably go with the GTM in the end, but I have no reason to believe that this kit wouldn't be a good kit to go with.

Both would fit the average person's power goals. IMO

I thought the Village Idiot (Lawchick) was banned......Where are the Mods Why is this waste of life not banned

To all the noobs....anything this guy likes...just go with the other brand...

In this case he likes JWT....so this makes GTM the better brand

If you ever plan on going over 550 whp..the JWT intercooler will prevent you from reaching that goal. Also , look at the list of different turbos that GTM carries....its like going into a shoe store.

My GTM kit was complete and worry free installed by me in my garage. It is always nice to see new kits come to market. Competition is a good thing between companies and keeps the new products coming. I just hate to see negative posts by someone who doesn't have first hand experience with either kit. I can only speak for the GTM kit as that is all I am familiar with but I do run the JWT clutch and flywheel in my car and have no issues with their products. Can't wait to see what kind of numbers they make.

Nothing against the JWT kit, but regarding point number 1, the front bumper is only designed for very low speed impacts:

http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/proble...per/Index.html

If you plan on bumping the car at those speeds, you should not be FI'd. In a real collision, that impact beam isn't gonna do squat.

But by all means, if the JWT I/C efficiency is good enough ... keep the bumper.
