hey, can you actually 'feel' any chassis twisting? I'd assume there would be, technically,.. especially when you're hard launching.

There is nothing wrong with wanting large amounts of usable power with a convertible. More weight on the rear gives a little more traction anyway.
There are a # of things that can be done to reduce chassis flexing, but I have to say the car is built pretty well. I do not think it is necessary unless you are going above say, 500whp on the ZR. I think at that point I think any chassis could use some extra help in this department. The benefit the coupes have is, usually at that point they go with full or partial cages. Whereas we with convertibles can’t really do that, so we have to do other things.

It is all good, to each their own. Just like everything else, everyone has their own opinions on what makes a great car. Mine includes the ability to go topless…

+1 the ZR is not your Daddy's drop top. In every other review of the ZR you can find similar comments.

Additionally, the doors openings were reinforced, along with a "triple member" added to the seating area connecting the sides to the floor structure to beef up rigidity.
I'm getting kinda tired of listening to why "some" coupe owners didn't buy the roadster.

The roadster may be heavier and consequentially slower but enough of the talk about the ZR not having as much "rigidity". Most everyone here couldn't honestly tell the difference.

Thanks everyone. It has been a tough battle going from shop to shop trying to get this car done right and my final stop Forged Performance has finally done it. The perfect engine build, the right mechanics, the right parts, and the perfect tune. I have never been happier. I will say, didnt we make 566whp on pump gas at 15psi sharif?

Well, the mix brought the effective octain up to about 105 octane max, since the tank already had 15 gallons of 93.

And remember, I didnt raise the boost at all for the second runs. We were running out of fuel pump, so I didnt want to push it further. But absolutely, with a stage II fuel system, a full tank of race fuel, and more boost, an additional 100whp is possible.

Since I don't spend a whole lot of time here in the FI forums, I figured I would ask this question in this thread. What factors are holding you back from hitting 700, 800, etc?

Fuel and air. Stage II fuel system is needed beyond the 600whp mark on our dyno (probably 650whp on a dynojet).

Beyond about 700-800whp, there are no bolt on turbochargers that will support the needed airflow to reach those numbers. With a larger frame turbocharger then 1000whp should be achievable.

You shouldn't need a mid frame turbocharger to hit 1000 WHP on a twin kit... (Midframe= Y2K, Thumper, GT47, etc)

i'm sure there might be a few. None that I know of personally though. All the 600+ RWHP Supras I have personally seen run a big single...

Gotcha... If only someone made an adpator for the Greddy manifolds to allow you to mount a T3 or T4 turbine...

I believe some of the HKS twin kits are capable of that and more.
